Betting Tip: Carlton by 18

After they've both had the week off to reset, it'll be interesting to see if Carlton continue their trajectory on this upward swing, and if the Cats are still in form slump. With Geelong possibly welcoming a few back in Danger and Ollie Henry, will add a few goals to their forward line.

However, even if 2016 Danger walked into the side, I still think the Blues are looking too strong at this stage, and ar the only team to challenge Sydney. Carlton to win, in a decent hit out.

Betting Tip: Port Adelaide by 16

Bad kicking is bad footy, and Port will be looking at biting back after stooping down to GWS' terrible conversion on the weekend, and pretty much trading ladder places with the Giants. They will be very aware that any win is very cruical now, and they have more to lose than the Lions at this stage.

The Lions still probably think they have a chance on finals, and this week will try to prove it. However, I think Port are a stronger team overall, mentally and physically, and will get the job done.

Betting Tip: Sydney by 14

It wasn't even 2 months ago when Sydney handed their little brother a strong beating, which threw them into a 3 game loss. Sydney are looking unstoppable at this stage over 4 quarters anywhere. The last 3 games, they have been down at half time, but still managed to win comfortably.

They are certainly due for a loss soon, I don't think GWS are the team to do it at this stage, but they'll definitely give them a crack.

Betting Tip: Melbourne by 4

No Trac, No Melbourne. I actually think teams usually player better when the star is out, but this will be in the Dees heads, and North's up and coming midfield will take advantage of the situation.

North were incredibly unlucky to lose last week, and they will be looking for blood. Can't bring myself to actually tip North at this stage, but I think it'll be much closer than the books suggest. And backing Gawny to show some heart and play a true captains game, and slotting at least one.

Betting Tip: Essendon by 36

The Don's are under a tonne of scrutiny at the minute, and if they lose this game they will lose all credibility. Not only a must-win, but a must send a message game for the Bombers. West Coast won't be safe in the fortress of Burwood, and prodigal son Harley Reid will be sitting on the sidelines. Essendon will want to really put a show on for the young lad, if they are still looking at poaching him in the future.

Don's to win comfortably, even if they still don't know what the big sticks are, and definitely some fast West Coast goals from turnovers.

After an absolute bollocking from Western Bulldogs Bontempelli last week, Freo will be really wanting to beat the Suns in Perth, and keep themselves inside the 8. Gold Coast, are well rested and with few injuries will also be going to get back in the 8 - but they are playing away again, and they fare better at home.

Tough one this week, but I think there is something in the water at Gold Coast at the moment and that they're the stronger team.
