Men's 800m ❌
Peter Bol
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Peter Bol did not qualify | 🥇 Emmanuel Kipkurui 🇰🇪 (KEN) 🥈 Ferguson Rotich 🇰🇪 (KEN) 🥉 Patryk Dobek 🇵🇱 (POL) |
Peter Bol is a two time Olympian who has represented Australia in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) and in 2021 (Tokyo).
In the 2016 Olympics, Bol came 41st with a time of 1:49.35, and then he smashed this time in 2020 at Tokyo, with a time of 1:45.92 and finished in fourth place.
Bol was less than 1 second (0.86 to be exact) behind Gold Medalist Emmanuel Kipkurui in the 2020 Olympics, and his PB is 1:44.00. Bol had recent controversies of failing a drug test, which ended up being cleared as a false positive, and he is cleared to compete in the 2024 games.
Men's 1500m ❌
(Stewart McSweyn & Oliver Hoare)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Stewart McSweyn & Oliver Hoare did not qualify | 🥇 Jakob Ingebrigtsen 🇳🇴 (NOR) 🥈 Timothy Cheruiyot 🇰🇪 (KEN) 🥉 Josh Kerr 🇬🇧 (GBR) |
Stewart McSweyn is a long distance runner who grew up on the remote King Island. At 26 years old, McSweyn finished 7th at the 2020 Olympic Games with a time of 3:31.91, less than 4 seconds behind Gold Medalist winner Jakob Ingebrigsten (3:28.32).
If social media has taught us anything, it's that people really get into running in their late 20s - so hopefully McSweyn steps it up even more so.
Oliver Hoare is another Aussie hopeful for Olympic glory at Paris this year, who finished a very respectable 11th (3:35.79) at the 2020 Olympic Games. Olli won Gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, so he'll be looking at adding an Olympic Medal to his trophy case.
Men's Discus Throw ❌
(Matt Denny)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Matt Denny placed third and received Bronze | 🥇 Daniel Ståhl 🇸🇪 (SWE) 🥈 Simon Pettersson 🇸🇪 (SWE) 🥉 Lukas Weisshaidinger 🇦🇹 (AUT) |
Matt Denny is the Australian champion at Discus, and boasts the Australian Record for the longest Discus throw (69.35m), which he threw back in April 2024.
Denny just missed out on a medal and came fourth in the last Olympics with a throw of 67.02m. Sweden's Daniel Ståhl won the Gold Medal that year with a throw of 68.90m. If Denny beats his personal best on the day, he could take out the Gold.
Women's Javelin Throw ❌
(Kelsey-Lee Barber)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Kelsey-Lee Barber did not qualify | 🥇 Shiying Liu 🇨🇳 (CHN) 🥈 Maria Andrejcsyk 🇵🇱 (POL) 🥉 Kelsey-Lee Roberts 🇦🇺 (AUS) |
Kelsey-Lee Barber (born Roberts) is another two time Olympian, who has also upped her game as the years have gone by. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, she finished 28th with a throw of 55.25m. 5 years later at Tokyo Olympics, she placed third with a throw of 64.56m.
In her last 6 competitions, she has stood on the podium 5 times (3x Gold's, 1x Silver and 1x Bronze. She's the current Gold Medalist of the Commonwealth games and a two time World Champion, and is a good chance to bring a medal home.
Kelsey-Lee Barber did not make the finals
Men's Decathlon ❌
(Ashley Moloney)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🥇 Damian Warner 🇨🇦 🥈 Kevin Mayer 🇫🇷 🥉 Ashley Moloney 🇦🇺 |
Ashley Moloney is a young gun who placed 3rd in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Mens Decathlon at the humble age of 21. A former World Junior Champion in the Decathlon, Moloney's pace is where he adds to his points tally and in Tokyo Olympics he finished 2nd in the 100m, 1st in the 400m and 1st in the long jump.
The area he is less specialised in is the throwing athletics (Shot Put, Discus Throw and Javelin). Now that he is a bit older and some more meat on his bones, hopefully he will smash those parts of the Decathlon out and get the Gold.
Women's High Jump ❌
(Nicola Olyslagers & Eleanor Patterson)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🥇 Mariya Lasitskene 🇷🇺 (ROC) 🥈 Nicola McDermott 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥉 Yaraslava Mahuchikh 🇺🇦 (UKR) |
Nicola Olyslagers (born McDermott) is the current Silver Medalist after coming second at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she jumped a PB of 2.02m. She is in current good form after just winning the Gold at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
Eleanor Patterson is Australia's second chance at Olympic Gold and a dual Olympian at the humble age of 28. She came 5th at the 2020 Olympics with a highest jump of 1.96m, 8cm short of Mariya Lasitskene who won with a highest jump of 2.04m. Eleanor's PB is 2.02m which she got in the 2022 World Indoor Championship, where she earned herself Silver.
Women's Pole Vault ✅
(Nina Kennedy)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Nina Kennedy won Gold | 🥇 Katie Moon 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Anzhelika Sidorova 🇷🇺 (ROC) 🥉 Holly Bleasdale-Bradshaw 🇬🇧 (GBR) |
Nina Kennedy looking at big change in her second Olympics, after coming 22nd in Tokyo Olympics where she jumped a 4.40m.
The 27yr olds form of late has improved substantially, and has won the Gold Medal in her last two competitions with the Commonwealth Games and World Championships, where she jumped 4.60m and 4.90m respectively - the latter being the same height Katie Moon won Gold for at the Tokyo Olympics.
Olympic BMX Betting
Men's Park - Logan Martin ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Logan Martin did not place | 🥇 Logan Martin 🇦🇺 🥈 Daniel Dhers 🇻🇪 🥉 Declan Brooks 🇬🇧 |
Logan Martin will be looking at backing up his Gold from 2020 Tokyo and adding to his impressive trophy cabinet at Paris 2024. After BMX Freestyle was added to the Summer Olympics in 2020, making Logan the sole Gold Medalist.
Logan is also the recipient of two Gold Medals in the Mens Freestyle BMX World Championships (2017 & 2021) and also most recently he received a Silver Medal at the 2023 Championships in Glasgow.
He is clearly one of the best in the world, and a very strong chance for a medal.
Womens Cycling BMX Racing - Saya Sakakibara ✅
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Saya Sakakibara won Gold | 🥇 Bethany Shriever 🇬🇧 🥈 Mariana Pajón 🇨🇴 🥉 Merel Smulders 🇳🇱 |
Saya Sakakibara is in some solid form coming into Paris 2024, as she has won the Women's UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in 2023 and 2024.
Saya finished in 9th place at the last Olympics, and fellow Australian Lauren Reynolds finished in 5th with a time of 45.501 seconds. The winner Bethany Shriever had a time of 44.358 seconds, only 1.2 seconds faster. Bethany came in second place to Saya at the 2023 World Cup, so she is a big threat to Saya (or Lauren) getting Gold.
Olympic Boxing Betting
Men's Boxing Lightweight - Harry Garside ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Harry Garside was eliminated in his first round | 🥇 Andy Cruz 🇨🇺 🥈 Keyshawn Davis 🇺🇸 🥉 Harry Garside 🇦🇺 |
Harry Garside was the first Australian to win an Olympic Medal for Boxing in three decades, when he won Bronze back at Tokyo 2020. The 26yr old won Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Lightweight division, and has a 3-0 professional record (2021-2022). He is also a plumber, so you know he isn't afraid to get dirty.
Harry however has walked away from the fame and riches of professional boxing, for the sole purpose of focusing on Gold at the Olympics, and become one of his Olympian heroes such as Grant Hackett and Cathy Freeman.
The boldness and determination of him to turn that away and continue plumbing to win gold is inspiring, and we'll be backing him for a real Rocky story for sure.
Olympic Diving Betting
Men's 10m Platform ❌ - Cassiel Rousseau
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Cassiel Rousseau finished fourth | 🥇 Yuan Cao 🇨🇳 🥈 Jian Yang 🇨🇳 🥉 Thomas Daley 🇬🇧 |
Cassiel Rousseau has gone from strength to strength since his last Olympic encounter. At 20 years old, he finished 8th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for the Men's 10m Platform. Since then, he has won Gold at both the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and in the World Championship in Fukuoka in 2023 - for the Mens 10m Platform.
Rousseau certainly has the respect of his peers, who have crowned him the World Aquatics Diving Athlete of the Year for 2023 - so he'll be definitely one to watch in the pool for different reasons in Paris.
Olympic Shooting Betting
Women's Trap Shooting - Laetisha Scanlan & Penny Smith ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Penny Smith placed second and received Silver | 🥇 Zuzana Stefecekova 🇸🇰 (SVK) 🥈 Kayle Browning 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥉 Alessandra Perilli 🇸🇲 (SMR) |
Laetisha Scanlan is a veteran Trap Shooting champion, who has received Gold at the World Championships, Commonwealth Game, Commonwealth Championships and Oceanian Championships. This will be her third Olympic Games and she finished in 5th place at London 2016 and 4th place at Tokyo 2020. If she has been consistently stepping it up, this season she could bring home a medal.
Penny Smith is another Aussie hopeful at the Women's Trap Shooting event. Penny finished slightly behind teammate Laetisha Scanlan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 6th place. While her trophy cabinet isn't as filled as Scanlans, she has received Gold at the mixed team trap shooting World Championships in 2017. So on her day, she is still a good chance.
Olympic Swimming Betting
Men's 50m Freestyle ✅
Cameron McEvoy
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Cameron McEvoy won Gold | 🥇 Caeleb Dressel 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Florent Mandaudou 🇫🇷 (FRA) 🥉 Bruno Fratus 🇧🇷 (BRA) |
Odds updated 2/8/2024
Cameron McEvoy is no stranger to the Olympics, and this will be his fourth time representing Australia, and third time for the 50m. In 2023, Big Boy McEvoy broke the Commonwealth and Oceania Record for the 50m Freestyle.
However, this time is still 0.9 seconds off current Gold Medalist Caeleb Dressels World Record that he got back in 2020 of 20.16 seconds, so he will be hard to beat.
Men's 100m Freestyle ❌
(Kyle Chalmers)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Kyle Chalmers placed second and received Silver | 🥇 Caeleb Dressel 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Kyle Chalmers 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥉 Kliment Kolesnikov 🇷🇺 (ROC) |
Kyle Chalmers is another well-known name that will hopefully add to our Medal Tally. Chalmers won Gold at 2016 beating Caeleb Dressel by 0.1 seconds at the age of 18. In the lead up to the 2020 Olympics, he had numerous injuries but still managed to sneak in Silver against adversary Dressel.
Chalmers has a near impeccable record in the 100m Freestyle, coming either 1st or 2nd in his last 9 competitions.
Men's 400m Freestyle ❌
(Sam Short)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Sam Short did not qualify | 🥇 Ahmed Hafnaoui 🇹🇳 (TUN) 🥈 Jack Mcloughlin 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥉 Kieran Smith 🇺🇸 (USA) |
Men's 800m Freestyle ❌
(Sam Short)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Sam Short did not qualify | 🥇 Robert Finke 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Gregorio Paltrinieri 🇮🇹 (ITA) 🥉 Mykhailo Romanchuk 🇺🇦 (UKR) |
Men's 1500m Freestyle ❌
(Sam Short)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Sam Short did not qualify | 🥇 Robert Finke 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Mykhailo Romanchuk 🇺🇦 (UKR) 🥉 Florian Wellbroxk 🇩🇪 (GER) |
Sam Short is another opportunist for multiple medals in his first Olympic Games. The 20 year old is getting it done at all lengths, and won Gold for the 1500m Freestyle at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and more recently won Gold at the 2023 World Championships for the 400m Freestyle.
At the 2023 World Championships, Short also received the Silver Medal for the 800m Freestyle and Bronze for the 1500m Freestyle. Winning on all three distances is a stretch as it seems he decreases on the longer swims, but the Commonwealth Games result shows that he does have the range to get it done at each length.
Women's 100m Freestyle ❌
(Mollie O'Callaghan)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Mollie O'Callagan finished fourth for this event | 🥇 Emma Mckeon 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥈 Siobhan Haughey 🇭🇰 (HKG) 🥉 Cate Campbell 🇦🇺 (AUS) |
Mollie O'Callaghan is already a Gold Medalist from her contribution in the Womens 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 16 at the time, she was only 0.24 seconds slower than the fastest split which was by veteran Cate Campbell.
Mollie won the 100m and 200m Gold Medals at the 2023 World Championships, and she is a very good chance to bring home a few medals.
Women's 200m Freestyle ✅
(Mollie O'Callaghan & Ariarne Titmus)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🇦🇺 Mollie O'Callaghan won Gold | 🥇 Ariarne Titmus 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥈 Siobhan Haughey 🇭🇰 (HKG) 🥉 Penny Oleksiak 🇨🇦 (CAN) |
Women's 400m Freestyle ✅
(Ariarne Titmus)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🇦🇺 Ariarne Titmus won Gold | 🥇 Ariarne Titmus 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥈 Katie Ledecky 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥉 Bingjie Li 🇨🇳 (CHN) |
Ariarne Titmus is another gun of the pool and is the reigning Gold Medalist in the 200m and 400m Freestyle. Although Mollie O'Callghan may be her top competitor for the 200m after she made a new World Record in 2023 - but Ariarne is another one who is likely to bring home multiple medals for Australia as she also made a new World Record for the 400m at the same meet.
Titmus who also swims in the 800m, will be going head to head with USA champion Katie Ledecky in the longer races. Titmus certainly has some tough competition in the short and longer races, but hopefully she has cemented her niche at 400m.
Women's 800m Freestyle ❌
(Ariarne Titmus)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Ariarne Titmus won Silver | 🥇 Katie Ledecky 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Ariarne Titmus 🇦🇺 AUS) 🥉 Simona Quadrella 🇮🇹 (ITA) |
Women's 100m Backstroke ✅
(Kaylee McKeown)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🇦🇺 Kaylee McKeown won Gold | 🥇 Kaylee McKeown 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥈 Kylie Masse 🇨🇦 (CAN) 🥉 Regan Smith 🇺🇸 (CAN) |
Kaylee McKeown is a dual Olympic Gold Medalist and have every chance of backing this up again at Paris 2024. At Tokyo 2020, and at the age of 20, McKeown broke the 100m Backstroke Olympic Record when she won Gold, and also took out the 200m Backstroke Gold.
At the 2023 World Championships, McKeown won Gold in the 50m, 100 and 200m Backstroke. Each time, narrowly beating Olympic Bronze Medalist Regan Smith by the slimmest of margins.
Women's 200m Backstroke ✅
(Kaylee McKeown)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🥇 Kaylee McKeown 🇦🇺 (AUS) 🥈 Kylie Masse 🇨🇦 (CAN) 🥉 Emily Seebohm 🇦🇺 (AUS) |
Olympic Surfing Betting
Men's Surfing ❌
(Jack Robinson)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Jack Robinson placed second and received Silver | 🥇 Italo Ferreira 🇧🇷 (BRA) 🥈 Kanoa Igarashi 🇯🇵 (JPN) 🥉 Owen Wright 🇦🇺 (AUS) |
Jack Robinson will be going for Gold in his first ever Olympics in Paris 2024. Robinson is in good form and has won 4x World Surf League events in the past two years, and also three runner ups. Brazilian Filipe Toledo has won the past two World Surfing League tours in 2022 and 2023, but has taken time off in 2024.
There is however recent speculation that Toledo will make a return to competitive surfing, which will make tough competition for Jack.
Women's Surfing ❌
(Molly Picklum & Tyler Wright)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
🥇 Carissa Moore 🇺🇸 (USA) 🥈 Bianca Buitendag 🇿🇦 (RSA) 🥉 Amuro Tsuzuki 🇯🇵 (JPN) |
Molly Picklum is a strong chance for a Medal for Surfing at the 2024 Olympics. Molly finished in 5th place in the 2023 World Championship Tour and managed to win one event on the 10 round tour - which proves that on her day, she can get the job done.
Tyler Wright is Australia's second chance fora medal at the Paris Olympics. Alike Molly, Tyler took out one of the events in the 2023 World Tour, but also managed to come runner up in four other events, and earned herself third place. This caused her to outrank Caitlin Simmers, who won two of the ten events last year.
Olympic Team Sports Betting
Men's Field Hockey - The Kookaburras ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Kookaburras lost in the Quarter Final | 🥇 Belgium 🥈 Australia 🥉 India |
The Kookaburras have a brilliant record when competing at the Olympics, however they have only ever won Gold once, back in Athens 2004 - finally breaking the curse. In the last 8 Olympic Games (Since 1992) they have only finished outside the podium once. They have also won Gold at every single Commonwealth Games and Oceania Cup in history.
In 2023, they placed 4th in the World Cup which is their equal worst placing since 1975. No strangers to winning, they are a decent chance for an Aussie Gold if they can again overcome the Olympic curse.
Women's Field Hockey - The Hockeyroos ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Hockeyroos lost in the Quarter Final | 🥇 Netherlands 🥈 Argentina 🥉 Great Britain |
The Hockeyroos have seen less success overall than the mens team, but have more Olympic Golds in their trophy cabinet. The Hockeyroos came 5th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which is where they have finished nearly every Olympics since their last Gold at Sydney 2000.
They recently came 3rd at the World Cup in 2022 behind favourites Netherlands and Argentina, and 2nd at the 2022 Commonwealth Games losing to England. They're definitely a chance for a medal, but Gold will be tough against the Netherlands who are ranked #1 on the FIH world rankings.
Men's Rugby Sevens - Australia National Team ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Australia did not receive a medal | 🥇 Fiji 🥈 New Zealand 🥉 Argentina |
Australia are a long shot in the Mens to get Gold at the Olympics. The team has never got past the quarter finals since the sport was introduced in the Olympics in 2016.
In saying that, at the most recent Rugby Sevens World Cup (2022) - Australia finished fourth, losing out to Ireland in the third placing game (with Fiji besting New Zealand to take out the World Cup). With a decent draw or the lads really turning it on at the Olympics, a medal is definitely doable.
Women's Rugby Sevens - Australia National Team ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Australia did not receive a medal | 🥇 New Zealand 🥈 France 🥉 Fiji |
Australia has found more success in the Women's Rugby Seven's than the Mens, and actually took out Gold back in 2016. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Australia narrowly lost to Fiji, who then Narrowly lost to New Zealand, who went on to win Gold quite comfortably over France. If the stars aligned differently, Australia could have had an easier run to the Gold Medal match.
The girls recently bet New Zealand at the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup. Both Australia and New Zealand are the only teams to win a World Cup since it was introduced in 2009 (two each) and likely one of the two will take out the Gold.
Women's Football - The Matildas ❌
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds*) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
The Matildas did not make Quarter-finals | 🥇 Canada 🥈 Sweden 🥉 USA |
The Matildas stole the nations heart at the 2023 World Cup after the most intense penalty shootout against France in the quarter-finals. The Tillie's ended up placing fourth to Sweden in the third place play-off, while Spain defeated England to win the World Cup.
The Tillie's also finished fourth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (losing to the USA), but with powerhouse Sam Kerr on the team - anything is possible.
Olympic Water Sports Betting
Men's Sailing Laser/ILCA7 ✅
(Matt Wearn)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Matt Wearn won Gold | 🥇 Matt Wearn 🇦🇺 🥈 Tonci Stipanovic 🇭🇷 🥉 Hermann Tomasgaard 🇳🇴 |
Matt Wearn is the reigning Gold Medalist from Tokyo 2020, and is a very good chance to bring home Gold again. The Aussies have dominated the Mens Laser event of late, with Gold in 2012, 2016 and 2020, to three different athletes (Tom Slingsby, Tom Burton, Matt Wearn).
Wearn has taken the Gold in the last two World Sailing Championships in 2023 and 2024 - so he is looking very hot for Olympic Gold and glory all over again.
Women's Canoe Slalam ✅
(Jess Fox)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Jess Fox won Gold | 🥇 Jess Fox 🇦🇺 🥈 Mallory Franklin 🇬🇧 🥉 Andrea Herzog 🇩🇪 |
Jess Fox is well situated to take home another Gold in the Canoe Slalom. Jess has won almost twice more Golds than any other female competitor (14) in the Canoe Slalom World Championships, second most is France's Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi who has 8 Golds.
Coming into the 2024 Olympics, she has won Gold in 30 out of 41 events Canoe Singles events.
Women's Pair Rowing ❌
(Annabelle McIntyre & Jessica Morrison)
Gold Medal Favourite (Odds) | Olympic Medalists (2020) |
Annabelle McIntrye & Jessica Morrison placed third and received Bronze | 🥇 Grace Prendergast & Keri Gowler 🇳🇿 🥈 Vasilisa Stepanova & Elena Oriabinskaia🇷🇺 🥉 Caileigh Filmer & Hillary Janssens 🇨🇦 |
Annabelle and Jess placed 7th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but are very hungry for Gold after a recent Silver Medal at the World Championships back in September 2023. The duo were the favourite coming into the race, but were bested by the Netherlands team (Ymkje Clevering and Veronique Meester).
The pair are looking strong at the World Championships in Belgrade in June, and this will give us a good indication of where they and their competitors are at.
