One of the smallest Australian-owned bookies with a strong cult following, Picklebet is Australia's premier esports betting site. Not only does Picklebet offer great esports odds for a massive range of titles, but they also offer a decent sports selection on over 20 traditional sports and recently added racing across all three codes, domestically and internationally. Picklebet now offer same game multis, and are continually to be one of the fastest-growing bookies in Australia.

We reckon that Neds is Australia's best horse racing betting site because they offer punters a huge variety of markets, features, race day statistics and price information, and, of course, great odds. We also like that Ned's support team is available 24/7, that their app for Apple and Android phones is fast and packed with features, and that they accept PayPal and many other instant deposit methods.

You can expect fast and simple betting apps, a really helpful customer support team, plenty of generous extras, a top fantasy betting platform in Draftstars, Same Game Multis, Best Tote odds, and most importantly - the best fixed odds offerings in Australia. Overall, PlayUp is a great choice for both serious and casual punters - especially if you're looking for high odds without all of the gimmicky features of other bookies.

- Lack of Esports
Website: palmerbet.com | Founded: 2013 |
Owner: Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd | Headquarters: Sydney |
As one of the few truly competitive Aussie-owned bookies, Palmerbet has become a popular choice for both serious and casual punters alike thanks to their quality betting apps, aggressive odds & high limits. Since 2013, Palmerbet has offered 100+ markets for popular sports, fixed odds and Best Tote odds for racing, as well as plenty of stats, previews, live streaming and predictions for all Aussies trying to get a bet on. As a well-rounded, transparent, and fun betting site, Palmerbet is a great choice.
Bet Right
- Decent selection of Esports markets
- Less mainstream markets inc Overwatch & King of Glory
- No live streaming
- Minimal payment options
Website: www.betright.com.au | Founded: 2021 |
Owner: IRPSX Pty Ltd | Headquarters: Sydney |
Bet Right launched in 2021 and has quickly become one of the most popular betting sites in the country, and it’s easy to see why. Bet Right is a perfect option for new age punters with 20+ sports to bet on, same game multis in plenty of sports including T20 cricket, over 140 soccer leagues to bet on (11 Australian leagues), 1.93 lines, and one of the most extensive Esports books.
Bet Right still offers plenty for racing enthusiasts, with all Aussie racing, a huge selection of international races, tote products including Best of the Best, live cash out and special racing markets including favourite v the field and horse/dog trainer wins markets. Now they have updated their site, it is very fast and responsive, although the graphics and colour scheme are very “gamer” oriented.
Why are sites with 4 stars higher than sites with 5 stars?
Good question, that's because our star ratings are general ratings - not specific to esports betting (i.e. Picklebet is not great for sports or racing betting but it is for esports betting so that's why it's at the top of the list on this page).
Which are the best esports betting sites?
"I reckon Picklebet is the best esports bookmaker in Australia - it was built as an esports-focused betting site. They have more esports to bet on than other site - with everything from Counter-Strike, LoL, and Dota 2 to games like FIFA, Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG, CoD, StarCraft 2, King of Glory, Rocket League, Rainbow Six, NBA2k, Valorant, Hearthstone and more. Picklebet also has daily esports betting tips, free-to-play prediction competitions, and great odds.
Bet365 is also a top choice simply because they have a lot of different bet types for popular esports matches and they also have high odds. The same goes for Neds and Ladbrokes which have between 25 and 75 betting options for the biggest tournament matches plus a few options for smaller matches and futures markets from around the world.
Otherwise, Unibet is also a top choice because they offer great pre-match and live esports betting odds and streaming for Dota 2, CSGO, LoL, and other esports and PlayUp can have really high odds but only a few esports betting options."

#1 for esports betting
Picklebet Esports
Picklebet entered the betting world in 2017 under the name Skrilla and was later rebranded as Picklebet in 2020. From the beginning, this Aussie-owned bookie wanted to revolutionize esports betting by making it safe and accessible to esports enthusiasts in Australia and eventually around the world.
Today, Picklebet is on the way to achieving this goal and is not only Australia's only esports-focused betting site but is one of the fastest-growing betting sites for sports betting too. You'll find the most esports betting options on Picklebet plus heaps of cool esports betting features like those outlined below.
Why Choose Picklebet Esports?
✅ The only Australian betting site that was built to cater to esports betting fans
✅ The most esports matches to bet on - CS & Dota to 2K & Hearthstone
✅ Daily esports betting tips, previews, and news courtesy of the Picklebet blog
✅ Live streaming of a wide variety of esports events built into the betting interface
✅ Pick'Em contests where you can win real money for making tournament picks
#2 for esports betting
Bet365 Esports
Bet365 is the world's most popular bookmaker and was one of the first betting sites in the world to start offering esports betting odds. They haven't slowed down and today they often beat all of their Australian competitors in terms of the number esports betting markets available for each game offered (Picklebet still has more different esports matches and sports than Bet365).
Overall, the Bet365 interface isn't beautiful but it's easy to use and there's plenty of deposit and withdrawal methods which makes getting money in and out of your account really easy. You really can't go wrong if Bet365 becomes your esports betting site of choice.
Why Choose Bet365 Esports?
✅ Bet365 has the most esports betting options for the events they offer
✅ Consistently high odds across all esports betting markets and tournaments
✅ CS:GO, LoL, Dota 2, FIFA, Fortnite, Overwatch, StarCraft II, HOTS, WOT & more
✅ Most Payment methods like Debit Card, PayPal, Apple Pay, POLi & more
✅ Esports offerings are growing with more markets to be added soon
#3 & 4 for esports betting
Neds (& Ladbrokes) Esports
Neds is one of Australia's newest bookies (launched in 2017) and as such, they cater well to the new age of punters - like those who want to bet on esports. Neds really excels in the number of smaller esports matches offered and for bigger tournaments, they can have upwards of 75 different outcomes that you can bet on.
Neds is also very easy to use, has a top-notch betting app, and plenty of secure payment options. Despite all of this, Neds' odds aren't always the best (but sometimes they are!) so while they may be the only bookie to accept bets on certain esports matches we reckon they could get even better.
Why Choose Neds Esports?
✅ Accepts bets for a range of smaller esports tournaments and matches
✅ Offers odds on CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends & Rainbow 6 games
✅ Very easy to use, with quality customer support and many ways to pay
✅ Accepts live bets and offers live streaming for selected matches
✅ Many futures/outrights options for the biggest esports tournaments
Note that because Neds and Ladbrokes are owned by the same company their esports betting options and odds are identical - therefore we reckon you should choose either of these two bookies but not both. That's also why we'll talk about Unibet next.
#5 for esports betting
Unibet Esports
Unibet is pretty comparable to Bet365 but there's also a few key differences. Unibet also offers a great range of betting markets for Dota 2, LoL and Counter-Strike but fewer markets for other sports. Unibet has similarly high odds and can sometimes beat Bet365 depending on the day.
One of the best things about Unibet's esports betting offerings is that they live stream most of their events. You can also bet live on Esports with Unibet by using their live phone betting line. With a handy blog that has regular esports betting tips, Unibet is another great option.
Why Choose Unibet Esports?
✅ Unibet has a great range of markets for Dota 2, LoL & CS:GO
✅ High esports betting odds, especially for popular events & leagues
✅ Tons of esports live streaming options for all types of games
✅ Regular blog with esports betting previews & tips from experts
✅ Multi-award-winning betting site with a great range of European esports markets
#6 for esports betting
PlayUp Esports
PlayUp's claim to fame is that they offer "Australia's Best Fixed Odds". From using all of the esports betting sites on this page we found that this wasn't always 100% true, however, for top tournaments and matches - it is. PlayUp also offers esports fantasy betting options from time to time which makes for a unique esports betting experience.
The other thing we love about PlayUp is that their mobile betting app is really easy to use, navigate, deposit, withdraw, and of course bet. That means that it's one of our favourite betting apps for esports. Do be aware that PlayUp has fewer esports betting options than the bookies above though.
Why choose PlayUp Esports?
✅ High fixed-odds, especially for Dota 2, LoL, CS:GO & other popular games
✅ The best esports betting app - really easy to use and fast to load
✅ Esports fantasy betting options for a variety of matches and tournaments
✅ Easy to use website and app with intuitive navigation & design
✅ New esports betting site (2019) with more markets added all the time

types of esports bets australia
As with any type of sport, there are plenty of ways to bet on esports in Australia. The markets you can bet on vary by bookmaker but the most common esports betting types include:
- Match or Round Winner - You pick the team you think will win the match or the round. This is the most common type of bet for all sports betting markets. When you enter an esports betting market these are usually the odds that a displayed first.
- Handicap - You pick the team that will win with a handicap applied. The handicap disadvantages the favourite and gives the underdog an advantage making the odds more similar and the likelihood of one team triumphing over the other more unpredictable.
- Maps - You pick the winner of a certain map. Many esports games are played across a number of different maps and these can favour different teams.
- Total over/under - You pick whether the total number of a certain statistic will be over or under a certain number that the bookmaker sets. Statistics you can be on include the total number of kills, headshots and combined scores.
- Outrights - You pick the winner of an esports tournament. In some cases, you can also bet on whether a certain team will finish in the top 3.
- First Blood - You pick the team to score the first kill of a match in CS:GO or LoL.
Esports betting example
Let's say you want to be bet $20 on the winner of a CS:GO match. Astralis is playing EXTREMUM. You could choose to bet on the match-winner or with a handicap bet.
Let's say the match-winner odds are 1.12 for Astralis to win and 5.25 for EXTREMUM to win.
Your payout is only $21.20 if Astralis wins but its $105 if EXTREMUM wins - however, this is less likely.
The other alternative is handicap bet which means that the favourite (Astralis) is disadvantaged and the underdog (EXTREMUM) is given a headstart.
Let's say the handicap is +/- 1.5 and the odds are 1.55 for Astralis to win with this handicap and 2.35 for EXTREMUM to win with this handicap.
This means that Astralis has to win the whole game by at least 2 rounds for them to beat the handicap or EXTREMUM has to lose by 1 round or less to beat the handicap.
The potential payout here is $30 for the Astralis win and $47 for the EXTREMUM win.
This makes the payout higher for Astralis but they now have less chance of winning and the payout lower for EXTREMUM but they have a higher chance of winning.
Esports betting payments australia
One of the big things you'll want to consider when betting on esports is what kind of deposit and withdrawal options you'll have.
Plenty of Aussies just use their credit or debit cards and this method is available at all Australian betting sites. However, some people prefer the security of payments methods like POLi while others like the familiarity of bank transfers. EWallets like PayPal, Neteller and Skrill are also popular, although they can be harder to come by.
esports betting apps australia
When you're looking for betting apps many of the things you want are the same as for esports betting websites, while other factors become more important.
Consider the following things when choosing a betting app for esports.
You can really tell if a betting agency is serious if they put effort into their app and a lot of this boils down to the design and navigation. You want an app that is easy to use and it should only take a few taps to find what you want to bet on.
Nobody likes a laggy app and the best esports betting apps are fast to load and they don't have any annoying pop-ups. This is especially important if you want to stream matches or bet live as the odds are constantly updating.
Of course, this is important for esports betting sites and apps but you want to be able to bet on the sports that you fancy. Having more markets than win/loss options is also a big plus.
Keeping up with the action and making informed esports bets is way easier if there is live streaming avilable. Also note that in Australia, you have to bet live over the phone, however, the best betting apps make this process quick and simple giving you a shorthand code you can use when calling their live betting line.
An accessible and helpful customer support team really shows how much a bookmaker cares. We like having the option to live chat, call or email.
Esports betting apps are legally not allowed to advertise their deals to punters who aren't already customers. However, players who have already signed up can get betting bonuses and other in-app deals.
Great esports betting apps have a range of other features which include fingerprint and Face ID login, push-button price notifications and betting previews which can further enhance your esports betting experience.
Note that all Australian betting apps are available on the App Store for iPhone users. Android users will either find Android betting apps on the Google Play Store or they will need to download Android betting apps from their chosen betting website. Read more about how to get android betting apps.

FAQs about esport bets
Esports betting is when you wager money on the outcome of an event in an esports match. In this way, esports betting is just like regular sports betting. Events you can bet on include the match, map or round winner, the winner of a tournament or the total number of kills or points scored.
Esports betting options depend on the esports match that you want to bet on. In Australia, esports betting can be done on most of the popular esports including Counter-Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2, Overwatch and Fortnite.
In Australia, there are a number of great esports betting sites. We have used them all and we think Australia best esports betting sites are:
Best Australian Esports Betting Sites 2023
- Picklebet - Built for esports betting, the best esports bookie
- Bet365 - High odds and the most esports bets per match
- Neds - Great range of smaller esports betting markets
- Ladbrokes - Similar to Neds, great for futures esports bets
- Unibet - Lots of esports markets and live esports streaming
- PlayUp - High odds and a simple esports betting app
- Palmerbet - Good range of esports betting markets
- Bet Right - Many more obscure markets
- TopSport - Offers solid amount of LoL markets
- BoomBet - Offers CS:GO & not much else
To bet on esports in Australia you need to:
- Choose an Australian esports betting site from this page
- Click the green button to visit the site
- Create your free betting account
- Deposit money
- Choose an esports betting market
- Place your bet
You win esports betting when you place a bet on the outcome of an esports match and the outcome happens.
For example, if you are betting on the winner of a Dota 2 match you will win your bet if the team you bet on wins. If you are betting on a specific team to draw first blood in a CS:GO match you will win if the team you bet on draws first blood.
We think that Australia's best esports betting site is Picklebet. That's because Picklebet has the most esports betting markets across a wide variety of different games and tournaments. Picklebet also has consistently high odds and a simple, easy-to-use betting website.
With esports live streaming, multi betting, daily tips, and free real-money prediction contests it's hard to look past Picklebet for esports betting in Australia.
Yes! Under Australian law, esports betting is treated like any other sport and is legal provided that you use a legal betting website. All of the esports bookmakers on this page are licensed in Australia and therefore legal for Aussie punters who want to bet on esports.
Australian esports betting sites include:
- Picklebet
- Bet365
- Neds
- Ladbrokes
- Unibet
- PlayUp
- Palmerbet
- TopSport
- BoomBet
There are other legal esports bookmakers but we don't recommend using them because their odds, betting options, or both, are not as good as the bookies mentioned above.
CS:GO → Australia Esports Betting Sites
CS:GO is Australia's most popular game at esports betting sites
CS:GO Betting in Australia
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the biggest esports in the world and in Australia it's the most popular esport for betting. CS:GO is a multiplayer first-person shooter and the fourth instalment of the franchise from Valve. Prize pools for CS tournaments often get above $1 million and the world's best teams are made up of full-time professional players.
CS:GO Betting Sites
CS:GO is covered on all esports betting sites in Australia and popular markets include Draw, Group of Winner, Group Winner, Handicaps, Total over/under, Region Winner, Total Rounds, Map Winner, First Blood, Knife Round and Top Fragger. While smaller tournaments are played somewhat regualrly, big CS:GO betting events include the Counter-Strike Majors and ESL Pro League.
What's the best betting site for CS:GO?
"Considering that CS is the most popular esport for online betting in Australia this is a tough one. However, I'd recommend Picklebet simply because they tend to have high odds plus betting tips, previews, competitions, and live streaming options. Bet365 is also a great choice because they tend to have more in-game markets to bet on for CS:GO minors, majors, and everything in-between. Neds is also a solid option, especially if you're betting on a big CS tournament because they'll likely have plenty of different betting options for each match as well as futures odds."

LoL Betting in Australia
League of Legends tournaments do not have crazy prize pools but it does have the highest viewership around the world. League of Legends is a multiplayer action strategy game that has been around since 2009 and is especially popular in Europe, Asia and the United States.
League of Legends Betting Sites
LoL betting is available at all of the Australian esports betting sites and popular betting markets include Match Winner, Correct Score, Handicap, Maps Total over/under First blood/dragon/baron, Player Bets and Tournament Winner Bets. The League of Legends Championship Series in Europe and America are especially popular for LoL punters but the League of Legends World Championship is the most-watched and most lucrative event of the year.

Dota → Australia Esports Betting Sites
Dota 2 Betting in Australia
Dota 2 is a MOBA/real-time strategy game and is the most lucrative esport in the world with annual prize pools for all tournaments exceeding $35 million. While viewership for Dota 2 in Australia and around the world is lower than it is for LoL and CS:GO plenty of Australian punters still bet on Dota esports tournaments every year.
Dota 2 Betting Sites
You'll find that all Australian esports betting websites also offer odds for Dota 2 and the most common types of Dota bets are Match/Tournament Winner, Map Winner, Total over/under, Handicap, First to a Number of Kills, First to Destroy Barrack/Tower, Roshan/Courier Kills, First Blood and Godlike Streak. The Dota Pro Circuit with Majors and Minors are where most Aussies find themselves betting on Dota 2, aside from, of course, The International.
What's the best betting site for Dota 2?
"As you might expect, Picklebet is the best Dota 2 betting site as well - it's pretty hard to compete with their range of options, high odds, and extra features. I'd say Neds, PlayUp, or Bet365 are the three next-best Dota betting sites but if I had to pick one it'd be PlayUp because they have slightly higher Dota 2 odds for over/unders and line bets (although Bet365 tends to have many more markets and Neds has many smaller Dota tournaments)."

The FIFA eWorld Cup is the biggest FIFA esports event of the year although there are a variety of smaller leagues and tournaments to bet on as well.

The FIFA eWorld Cup is the biggest FIFA esports event of the year although there are a variety of smaller leagues and tournaments to bet on as well.
What's the best betting site for FIFA?
"Only a few bookies offer FIFA betting odds and so Picklebet is my go-to because I can be sure they'll have odds. Plus you'll get streaming options and a good range of markets."
