BetDogs Overview
BetDogs is undoubtedly Australia's premier greyhound betting site, offering market-leading fixed odds and the highest betting limits for all Australian meets (and for a range of NZ and UK races). Also expect Best Tote & SP odds for selected events, special markets like favourite vs field and box challenges, as well as Jump Style, Early Speed, and Racing Line info for every domestic race. Granted, BetDogs has no sports or racing odds, but if you're one for betting on the dishlickers then this honest Aussie-owned bookie is your best bet.

BetDogs Review
BetDogs is the world's first, and Australia's only, betting site dedicated entirely to greyhound racing. Launched in 2019 by Tristan Merlehan - the guy who runs TopSport - BetDogs offers a refreshingly honest and really competitive product for all Aussie greyhound punters.
Firstly, unlike some of the bigger corporate bookies, BetDogs will never restrict winning players. They have a low $2 betting minimum, an owners/trainers bonus, and they also show their own bookmaker margin for every racing market.
While BetDogs doesn't have all the bells and whistles of sites like Sportsbet and Ladbrokes you'll still find that all greyhound races have fixed odds, tote odds (Best Tote or Mid Tote depending on the race), and exotics available.
Additionally, special markets like Favourite vs Field are always are available domestically as are Full Form, Jump Style, Early Speed, and Racing Line info for all runners.
There's also a selection of New Zealand and international races on BetDogs, as well as daily Best Bet tips but don't expect too much more. BetDogs has no betting apps, live streaming, same race multis, or any of the gimmicky features you might get from a bigger bookie.
Why we like BetDogs ✅
- BetDogs has full form, Jump Style, Early Speed, and Racing Line info for all dishlickers
- BetDogs is a small, honest Australian-owned bookie that won't restrict your account
- BetDogs has Australia's best fixed odds as well as Best or Mid Tote options for every race
Why we don't like BetDogs ❌
- BetDogs has no sports or racing odds - check out their other site at TopSport.com.au
- BetDogs has very few features like betting apps, live streaming, and same race multis
Who let the BetDogs out?
If you're a regular greyhound punter or looking to bet on dogs for the first time, then BetDogs is definitely worth checking out.
BetDogs' transparency is rare, refreshing, and perhaps the best thing about this bookie.
BetDogs has low betting minimums ($2 per bet), an owners/trainers bonus, and betting maximums that can be personally negotiated with the local customer service team. They also show what their margin is for each race.
When it comes to Aussie greyhound racing, you can always expect exotics, multis, fixed, and favourite vs field odds. You'll also get access to a range of features on BetDogs like full form guides, early speed, race lines, and jump style information for all runners.
For select Aussie events, you'll see Best Tote, Best Fluc, and/or Starting Price odds, as well as futures odds, Best Bet Tips, and Box Challenges.
Internationally, BetDogs offers fixed odds or Best Tote + 5% where available (NZ races).
Other things worth knowing include the fact that BetDogs does not take an extra margin on multi bets and that BetDogs's customer support team is available via phone, email, post, and even fax (but not live chat).
You can expect to chat to someone who knows a lot about Greyhound racing and because the BetDogs team is so small they're likely to also work with setting prices i.e. you'll get great customer service.
Also know that BetDogs deposits and withdrawals can be made using Credit Card, POLi, BPAY, Bank Transfer/EFT, Cheque.
Unfortunately, BetDogs is lacking when it comes to extra features like betting apps, live streaming, same race multis, and cash out but this is hardly surprising given their small status and focus on providing a personalised, and really competitive greyhound racing product.
If you're after any of these missing features, or odds for sports and horse racing, then check out BetDogs' sister site - TopSport.com.au.

Bet Dogs Australia FAQ
Yes!
As the name suggests, BetDogs is a great choice for greyhound racing. BetDogs is the world's first (and Australia's only) betting site dedicated to greyhound racing.
There are a number of reasons why we reckon BetDogs is worth signing up with:
- BetDogs is a small, honest, Australian-owned bookie that has low betting minimums, high maximums, welcomes winners, and is transparent with their bookmaker margin
- BetDogs offers Best Tote odds, Starting Price, and Best Fluc odds for selected Australian races as well as market-leading high fixed odds, exotics, and multi-options
- BetDogs offers markets for NZ and other international dog races with solid fixed odds prices and/or Mid Tote + 5% odds
- BetDogs has Full Form, Jump Style, Early Speed, and Racing Line information for all Australian runners as well as daily Best Bet tips
- BetDogs' customer support team is based in Australia, really helpful, and knows the BetDogs product and services very well
Note that BetDogs only offers odds for Australian and international greyhound racing, for sports or horse racing odds, check out TopSport (which is owned by the same guy).
BetDogs often has the best greyhound odds in Australia but not always.
No betting site in Australia always has the best odds for a given sport/event but BetDogs offers market-leading greyhound odds that are consistently higher than their competitors.
- BetDogs offers high fixed-odds prices for every Australian race as well as a number of international events.
- For selected Australian events, BetDogs has Best Tote, Starting Price, and Best Fluc odds as well as Mid Tote + 5% odds for NZ races.
We have reviewed BetDogs based on the same 5 criteria that we rank all Australian betting sites.
Here's a summary of our BetDogs review:
- Betting Variety - BetDogs offers fixed odds, tote odds, multis, exotics and special markets like favourite vs field for all Australian greyhound races. BetDogs also has UK and NZ greyhound markets.
- Mobile Experience - BetDogs does not have an app but on mobile, their website is clean, easy to use and generally fast to load.
- Payment Options - BetDogs offers most of the more popular payment options including Debit/Credit Card, POLi, BPAY, Bank Transfer/EFT, and Cheque
- Betting Experience - BetDogs is arguably the most transparent bookie in Australia. They offer personalised support, will never restrict your account and even display their margins.
- Customer Support - BetDogs doesn't have live chat but you can contact their local team via phone or email
Note that because BetDogs is a greyhound-only betting site their rating is lower than it would have been had we been a greyhound-focused website.
BetDogs deposit options include POLi, BPAY, Cheque, EFT/Bank Transfer, and Debit/Credit Card.
BetDogs withdrawal options include EFT/Bank Transfer, and Debit/Credit Card.
No, unfortunately, BetDogs does not have a betting app at the moment.
You can still access the BetDogs website on your mobile phone.
Due to Australian betting regulations, we cannot answer that.
You will have to be logged into your account to view your BetDogs promotions and bonuses.
BetDogs is owned by Merlehan Bookmaking Pty. Ltd, licensed by the NSW Government and regulated by Greyhound Racing NSW.
BetDogs was founded by Tristan Merlehan, the son of veteran Gold Coast bookie Lloyd Merlehan.
That depends on what you want of course.
- If you're looking for betting sites with plenty of sports, horse, and greyhound options but more features like same race multis, live betting, and betting apps then consider a big corporate bookie like Sportsbet or Neds.
- If you want other Aussie-owned betting sites with high fixed-odds prices, quality customer service, and racing/sports betting options we'd recommend PlayUp or TopSport (which is owned by the same team as BetDogs)
BetDogs Greyhound Betting
The name says it all for BetDogs and this bookie not only specializes in Greyhound betting but that's all they have to offer.
BetDogs has the most competitive greyhound odds of any Australian betting site
This includes quality fixed-odds prices for domestic and international races as well as Best Tote, Best Fluc, and Starting Price odds for the biggest Australian and New Zealand meets every week.
The BetDogs website may not look as flashy as other Aussie bookies but their odds are high, their markets are plentiful and winning players are welcome
You'll find that all Australian greyhound races can be bet on with BetDogs. Most New Zealand and UK races are also available as are weekly Box Challenges and futures markets for the biggest races on the yearly calendar.
Multis, Exotics, & Fav vs Field options are plentiful and BetDogs also publishes weekly Best Bet tips.
Also, know that while BetDogs does not offer Same Race Multis, their Multi odds represent the true price of your multiplied legs (eg. unline other bookmakers, they do not take an extra cut on multis).
Two other features that set this bookie apart are the stats and information you get for each runner and the fact that BetDogs shows their margin for each race.
Runner information includes Full Form & Runner information (breeding info, past races, & price movement), Jump Style (starting/jumping habit), Early Speed (predicted starting speed), and Racing Line (predicted position on the track).
You can select any runner to see expanded form and race information. The percentages below the Fixed Win and Fixed Place column show BetDogs' margin for those betting products.
Overall, BetDogs is a simple, transparent greyhound bookie that provides plenty of value to any Aussie punter looking to bet on the dogs.

BetDogs Features
BetDogs has a few features that add value and/or improve the betting experience for greyhound-mined punters.
Most of these have already been mentioned in this review but here's a little more information about each of them.
BetDogs has Runner, Record, Price Movement, Recent Runs, Jump Style, Early Speed & Racing Line information for all Australian dishlickers
BetDogs Greyhound Betting Features
- BetDogs Greyhound Runner Information
BetDogs has the following runner information for each dog in every Australian greyhound race.
- Runner Info - Age/Sex, Sire, and Dam
- Record - Career, Track, and Distance
- Price Movement - Pre-Post Prices
- Recent Runs - Info for Last 9 Runs
- Jump Style - Predicted Starting Habit
- Early Speed - Predicted Starting Speed
- Racing Line - Predicted Track Position
For bigger races, you'll also find that 1st Up, 2nd Up, and track condition form (Firm, Good, Soft, Heavy) is also available.
- BetDogs Greyhound Multi Betting
BetDogs lets you create multis with 2 to 10 legs for runners from any race offered (but not Same Race Multis).
Unlike other bookies, BetDogs gives you the true multi price (i.e. they do not take an extra cut on multi bets).
- BetDogs Greyhound Betting Tips
BetDogs has daily Box 1 Greyhound Tips for at least a couple of different runners.
Generally, no analysis is provided but free tips are still welcome.
- BetDogs Greyhound Futures
In the 'Feature Races' section, you'll find greyhound racing futures markets for the biggest events upcoming in the calendar.
The odds for these futures are often the best you'll find in Australia.
- BetDogs Greyhound Box Challenges
BetDogs almost always has at least one weekly Box Challenge.
Box Challenges let you bet on which Box/Dog Number will be the most successful for all the races at a given meet.
Generally, 3 points are awarded for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd, and the Box with the most points at the end of the last race wins.
- BetDogs Sports & Horse Racing betting
BetDogs does not offer sports and horse racing odds but the owners of BetDogs also run TopSport.
TopSport is a great choice if you're looking for a small, honest Aussie-owned betting agency with similarly competitive odds - but for racing and sports.
BetDogs Payment Options
As you would probably expect from a smaller locally-owned betting site like BetDogs, their payment methods are somewhat limited but still adequate.
We'd love to see a PayPal option but because card, bank transfer, POLi, BPAY, and cheque are all available there's not too much to complain about.
Despite this, we have to say again that BetDogs is a generous and transparent bookie that welcomes winners.
This means that your account never be banned, although if you are a truly high-stakes punter then BetDogs may still set single bet limits for you if they don't have enough liquidity to hedge their position.
BetDogs' minimum bet amount is $2.
BetDogs Deposit Options
- Credit/Debit Card
- EFT/Bank Transfer
- POLi
- BPAY
- Cheque
Credit Card, Debit Card, and POLi deposits are instant with BetDogs. BPAY, EFT, and BankTransfer Deposits may take up to 3 days (but generally are quicker).
BetDogs Withdrawal Options
- Credit/Debit Card
- EFT/Bank Transfer
Credit and Debit Card card withdrawals may take up to 2 days with BetDogs. EFT and Bank Transfer withdrawals can take up to 5 days (usually your first withdrawal is the slowest with subsequent withdrawals taking only 1 to 2 days).
If you use your Credit/Debit card to deposit to your BetDogs account, and a withdrawal of greater than $2,000 is requested, then BetDogs may deposit the proceeds back to the card originally used to deposit.
BetDogs Customer Support
There are plenty of ways to get in contact with BetDogs' customer support team (with the notable absence of live chat).
Because BetDogs is a small Australian-owned bookie, you'll always be talking to another Aussie and it's very likely that they also have other responsibilities at BetDogs (like setting prices and managing the book).
This means that you'll always chat to someone who cares about you as a player and knows a lot about the BetDogs betting website.

As one of the most simple and straightforward online betting sites in Australia, BetDogs is really easy to use.

How to sign up and bet with BetDogs Australia

- Confirm your account registration
- Make your first deposit

When you have entered a racing market you'll see the Jump Style, Early Speed, and Racing Line predictions for each runner, along with their form in the last five races. Full runner information and record information can be seen by clicking on a specific runner.
You'll also notice the Pre-Post Flucs for each dog along with the odds offered. At the bottom of the race card, BetDogs' bookmaker margin is shown. You can also re-organize the runners by number, dividend, or name.
The BetDogs site is pretty straightforward and should be easy to use whether you are a first time online punter or regular player

BetDogs Promotions
Unfortunately, because we are a big fan of rules and laws we cannot talk about BetDogs promotions and bonuses.
Australian betting regulations have banned the advertisement of sign up bonuses and other betting offers to players who don't already have betting accounts
And because we don't know if you already have a betting account with BetDogs, we cannot tell you about their betting offers.
You can view BetDogs bonuses and promotions by logging in to your BetDogs account.
BetDogs bonuses can only be viewed by punters who are logged into their accounts
