WellBet Overview
Built from the new betting platform BetCloud, WellBet is a fresh betting site with a “beachy” vibe. WellBet offers all racing in Australia, with a few international meets, and a growing sports book with 10+ sports to bet on. WellBet doesn’t offer Tote racing products, but their odds are above industry standard in racing and sport, which pairs well with their smooth multi builder.
WellBet provides markets on races only a few days out, and the limited sporting games they offer are for the current round, no futures betting. WellBet is also missing betting options like Same Game/Race Multi.

WellBet Review
WellBet is a trendy betting site that launched in 2023 that is optimised with the upcoming betting software BetCloud and is a member of the Victorian Bookmakers Association. The website/app has a beachy Aussie resort theme, which is relevant enough as they offer Australian racing and sports that are popular in Australia. E.g. AFL, NRL, Soccer etc. There is little future betting with WellBet, the racing markets offered are a maximum of three days away, and the sports matches offered we found are for no more than a month out - or just the current round that the sport is in.
There is no Same Game Multi available, and the sports markets are quite limited with no individual player markets (besides tennis). The racing markets WellBet offer are fixed only and basic with no quaddie or Same Race Multis. There is no Tote betting with WellBet.
The fixed odds are higher at WellBet, but they are missing out on racing products like Best of the Best and Top Fluc.
WellBet is still in their infancy period and missing key features like form guide, speed map, live streaming, tips, black book and race overview - but with the effort that has gone into the graphics and efficiency of their site and app, we expect them to have some features and more markets soon. In their words they are building the "betting experience of tomorrow", so keep an eye out with us to see what they have in store.
Why we like WellBet ✅
- WellBet has high odds in Australian racing and sports markets they offer - including AFL, NRL & NBA
- WellBets website/app has a clean interface that is easy to navigate between betting options
- WellBet has a fast multi builder that is seamless for up to 20 legs
Why we don't like WellBet ❌
- WellBet is missing some betting options like Same Game/Race Multi
- WellBet deposit method is credit/debit card only
WellBet is one of the best betting sites to launch in 2023
Do You Really Bet Well, At the WellBet Hotel?
WellBet hotel, resort or island - whatever it is, the graphics and layout of the WellBet website certainly are aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. But. Is WellBet a good site to bet with?
Yes. So far, we like what we see. But there is plenty of room for improvement. The site has just launched in 2023 and still in its early days, but it is a fast and clean site with great odds. Although WellBet initially was only offering Australian racing and a handful of sports, but since we first reviewed them they have doubled their sports offering and added international races.
WellBet is a great option to bet simply with great odds on the games and races that matter to Aussies.
WellBet's member promotions are minimal, but they do provide their own unique special bets. WellBet are also missing plenty of features that you can get with other betting sites including racing and sporting insights. If these are important to you, we recommend having a punt with betr.

Punting on Racing With WellBet
WellBet offers all Australian racing across the three codes (thoroughbreds, greyhound, harness) and a handful of international meets in popular racing countries such as UK and Ireland. WellBet provides their own fixed odds for all racing with no Tote offerings, so there is no Best Tote + SP, Top Fluc or Best of the Best. The racing markets are limited with WellBet and the ones offered include:
- Win
- Place
- Exacta
- Quinella
- Trifecta (Boxed, Straight)
- First Four (Boxed, Straight)
What are the Racing Odds like for WellBet?
While WellBet is missing out on the Tote products, we have found their odds to be consistently high across the three codes in comparison to other betting sites with top odds.
Racing Odds Comparison (22/3/23) | PlayUp | Neds | WellBet |
---|---|---|---|
Belmont R5 (Thoroughbreds) | 27.4% | 29% | 27.8% |
Albion Park R2 (Greyhounds) | 30.35% | 25.5% | 25.5% |
Ballarat R3 (Harness) | 34.0% | 32.4% | 32.6% |
- Odds Comparison - What does the percentage mean?
The percentage shown is the margin for how much the betting site will make on a race (if all bets placed on the race end with an equal payout for the bookmaker).
E.g. A bookmaker with a 30% margin on an event will make $30, from $100 worth of bets.
If maths isn't your thing just remember: The lower the margin for the bookmaker = The better it is for you.
Punting on Sports with WellBet
WellBet only offers sports that are mainstream in Australia as listed below, with options only from the popular leagues in most sports. The exception is for Soccer, where WellBet has a decent selection of over 10 leagues in Australia and internationally to bet on:
- AFL
- American Football
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Darts
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
- Soccer
- Tennis
WellBet offers limited betting options for the sports they provide, with no player betting options and only score related betting options, including:
- Win/Draw
- Handicaps
- Margins
- Odd/Even
- Quarter/Half/Full Markets
Can I place a Multi or Same Game Multi with WellBet?
You can place a Multi with WellBet, but currently there is no option for Same Game Multi. The Multi builder allows up to 20 legs, which makes WellBet a great option for Multis. Although, the maximum payout for a Multi is $40k - so don’t go too bananas with roughies, or you’ll be disappointed when it gets up.
What are the Sports Odds like for WellBet?
Just like in racing, WellBet offers competitive odds for their limited sports markets that are in line (and is some cases better), to other bookmakers that we've noted as having high odds.
Sports Odds Comparison | PlayUp | Neds | WellBet |
---|---|---|---|
(AFL) Carlton v Geelong | 5.0% | 4.5% | 4.9% |
(NBA) Miami Heat v New York Knicks | 5.1% | 4.8% | 4.3% |
(A-League) Western Sydney v Adelaide United | 9% | 12.2% | 6.1% |
(NRL) Storm v Wests Tigers | 4.9% | 5.9% | 8.2% |
Using The WellBet App
We found the WellBet app to be reliable and very similar to the website, but a bit slower than the site. The app is missing key features of its competitors like live streaming, sporting and racing insights.
The ratings of the app are 3.1/5 and 4.3/5, from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store respectively.
WellBet App Pros ✅
- Free to download
- Modern look
- Available on iOS and Android
- Reliable and easy to use
- High multi builder up to 20 legs
WellBet App Cons ❌
- Few features (no live streaming, speed map or insights)
- Lack of deposit & withdrawal methods
- Not many sports markets, like the website
Most of the negative reviews for the app on the Apple and Google Play store, are primarily focusing on the lack of promos/markets and the customer support - which we found to be fine as detailed in the next section.
Most users (along with us) found the app to be reliable, but like the site, there are not as many sports or markets that you'd expect from Bet365, such as Table Tennis or Winter Sports.
WellBet app is available for iOS and Android.
WellBet Support and Withdrawal Times
Support
WellBet does not have many support options available, with only the option of Live Chat or email. Although, we cannot fault their responsiveness as we found their chat support to respond to our enquiries at the latest 5 mins - and once was Wednesday night at 8:30pm with only a few races left.
Withdrawals
WellBet withdrawals are done only by bank transfer and take up to 1-3 business days to reach your account.
