I have a sneaky suspicion they were ready to launch sooner. Since then, Betr, which is a creation of top bookie Matthew Tripp, and ASX-listed BetMakers Technology Group, has been offering great member promotions on a weekly basis.

Betr has unbeatable betting promotions on racing and sport, and in-depth sporting insights for all AFL, NRL and NBA games.

However, the launch of Betr was a bit of a shambles. A slow and clunky app, overwhelmed customer support and a “fishy” public perception. The smell of which, all continue to linger onto Betr today.

If you are familiar with Sportsbet, you will be at home with Betr. Both bookmakers have a similar layout, extensive promotions, and the sports betting and racing markets that they offer are similar, including same race/game multi and Top Tote - but neither provide Top Fluc or Best of the Best. Although Betr offers better promotions, they have less offerings on sports than Sportsbet, and less again than that of Bet365. Since launching during the 2022 Spring Racing Carnival, Betr has focused on delivering great racing options for punters. How Do Betr's Odds Stack Up?

We found that Betr’s odds are in line with the industry average across most markets, especially when the event is a few weeks out. However, like a lot of betting sites that we review, with some digging you will find superior odds in some markets, and Betr is no exception.

While Betr’s odds may not be anything to write home about, we do find their betting promotions and perks for their members are unmatched. If you prefer things a bit more simple and want great fixed odds without the flash, we recommend having a punt with PlayUp.

The app has improved since October, however it is still a bit slow and clunky. There is definitely room for improvement and to add more features. It is only at Version 1.1.0 (at time of writing) so hopefully there will be some updates in the future.

In the meantime, we find the Betr website much quicker and more beneficial (especially on laptop/desktop) due to the extensive insights Betr provides. Plenty of knowledge, much more accessible.

The support at Betr has greatly improved since they launched. With the massive influx of 300k customers signing up at launch time - the support team was overwhelmed, and an undersized team was never going to be able to address issues quickly. Customers reported slow payment withdrawals, and a slow response time from the chat. We know it's frustrating not getting through, but always remember it's never the support teams fault, so be kind.

Since then, the support at Betr has found their feet and the live chat is much faster as is their call waiting time. We even found the complaint team to respond within two hours.

Many punters have expressed their frustration online claiming it took weeks to get paid when Betr launched. We cannot confirm this (damn you Deauville Legend), but a small team to process 10,000 winners would definitely take a few days.
