Ladbrokes Vs Bet365 - What international betting site is the best?
Ladbrokes vs Bet365, a battle of two British heavyweights and perhaps the two most recognizable names in international betting, but which of these two international betting sites is the best for Aussie punters?
Ladbrokes, which is owned by GVC Holdings in the Isle of Man, was founded in 1886. The company moved to Australia in 2013 and is currently based in Brisbane. Ladbrokes is one of the most trusted international betting websites in the country and has particularly strong racing offerings.
Bet365, is owned by the Coates family in the UK in Stoke-on-Trent. Bet365 began operating in Darwin, Australia in 2012. As well as being the most used international bookmaker in the world, Bet365 has consistently high odds, a huge range of betting markets and heaps of betting features.
But what is the best international betting site in Australia?
Here's a hint: It starts with a B and rhymes with Schmet365
Round 1: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Odds
Round 1 Winner: Bet365
No matter what you want out of a bookmaker, high odds will likely be one of your top priorities.
Choosing an international betting site with high odds can be the difference between a few bucks or hundreds of dollars in winnings depending on how much you bet and how often.
Therefore, Round One focuses on whether Ladbrokes or Bet365 has better odds.
The odds on most betting sites vary slightly which can means that one day Ladbrokes may have better odds and another day Bet365 might have the best odds.
Despite this, we've found that Bet365 almost always has the highest odds of any international betting website
Aside from some Australian sports and racing markets, Bet365 has better odds than Ladbrokes - especially for small matches and races where Ladbrokes often doesn't even have the option to bet.
To illustrate this we took the next two EPL matches and compared Ladbrokes and Bet365's odds. In general, Bet365 had equal or better odds than Ladbrokes with the exception of a few markets. We also know from our experience that Bet365 has significantly higher odds for both popular and more niched sports and racing betting markets.
As you can see from the screenshots above, Ladbrokes (top) has slightly worse odds than Bet365 (bottom), for these two EPL matches.
Round 2: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Markets
Round 2 Winner: Bet365
The number of betting markets, or outcomes that you can bet on, are especially important for punters who want to bet on specific things to happen in a match or race.
All sports markets will have a win/loss betting options and all racing markets will have win/place betting options but there are heaps of other ways to bet.
Betting markets vary by the international betting site you're using and also by sport but common markets include handicaps, futures, points scorers, correct score and over/under bets.
Ladbrokes and Bet365 both have a lot of betting markets for each sport and race that they offer but Bet365 has more overall sports and races than Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes sometimes has more betting markets for Australian sports events and races but it's hard to bet Bet365's range of markets for popular international sports like soccer and US sports. Bet365 also has more niched sporting markets like water polo and winter sports.
When you also take into account Bet365's extensive range of live betting markets for everything from handball to table tennis and even volleyball Bet365 comes out on top.
You can see that in the two featured live soccer markets above on Bet365 have 34 and 30 betting markets respectively. There were also different 27 live soccer matches available on Bet365 when this image was captured.
Ladbrokes' two featured live soccer markets have only 8 and 24 markets to bet on each. At the time of writing, Ladbrokes also only had 16 live soccer betting markets compared to Bet365's 27.
Round 3: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Apps
Round 3 Winner: Bet365
Many Aussies prefer betting apps to betting websites because they make the betting process simple and make betting available wherever you are.
Therefore we think it's also important to consider who has the best betting app - Ladbrokes or Bet365?
Both apps have a bunch of great features. For Ladbrokes, these are mainly centred around racing and include the Ladbrokes blog, info hub and multi builder.
Bet365 has a great bet builder, plenty of live stats and heaps of live streaming offerings.
Your favourite app is going to depend on which of these things are most important to you but one other thing to consider is how easy the app is to use and how fast it loads.
From our experience, the Bet365 app, like the website, is cleaner, simpler and faster to load than the Ladbrokes app.
Therefore, Bet365 wins the round again.
The Ladbrokes and Bet365 apps can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for iPhone or from each bookmaker's own mobile website for Android.
Round 4: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Payment Methods
Round 4 Winner: Bet365
Checking whether your preferred payment method is available before you choose an international betting website is one of the most important things you can do.
So what payment methods do Bet365 and Ladbrokes offer?
While both Ladbrokes and Bet365 offer many of the same payment methods including Credit Card, Debit Card, PayPal, Bank Transfer, POLi, Flexepin, Cash In and Cash Card, there are still some differences.
Bet365 has 13/17 of the most popular payment methods, Ladbrokes has only 10/17
Bet365 has 4 payment methods that Ladbrokes doesn't - Apple Pay, Cheque, paysafecard and ClicktoPay.
Ladbrokes has only 1 payment method that Bet365 doesn't offer - BPAY.
Therefore, unless you want to use BPAY, Bet365 is a better international betting site than Ladbrokes when it comes to betting deposits and withdrawals.
Round 5: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Live Streaming
Round 5 Winner: Bet365
Not all international betting sites in Australia have live streaming - but the best ones do.
Bet365 offers live streaming, Ladbrokes does not
That's right, Bet365 wins this round pretty easily considering we could not find any live streaming on Ladbrokes Australia.
Not only does Bet365 have live streaming but they have the best live streaming of any international bookmaker in Australia. Whether is basketball, golf, soccer, cricket, rugby, tennis, racing, esports or table tennis you'll always find live streams on Bet365.
If you are logged in and have a positive account balance you can access thousands of live streams every year on Bet365
Round 6: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Live Betting
Round 6 Winner: Bet365
Live betting is one of the fastest-growing segments of the betting industry and is especially popular with professional bettors.
In general, international betting sites, like Ladbrokes and Bet365 have a lot of live odds but the question still remains, which bookmaker is better?
Bet365 has many more markets and features in its In-Play section than Ladbrokes
From experience, we know that no international betting site in Australia has as many live betting options as Bet365.
We took a random tennis match as an example to illustrate this. Bet365 had 57 available markets whereas Ladbrokes had only 24.
If you also take into account fact that Bet365's live betting interface has many more stats and features it's clear that Bet365 is better than Ladbrokes when it comes to live betting.
Note that in Australia, you can only bet live over the phone.
Bet365's live betting interface is top notch with plenty of stats, live graphics and markets - no matter the sport
The Ladbrokes live betting platform is pretty simple and for most markets you just get the odds
Round 7: Ladbrokes vs Bet365 - Customer Support
Round 7 Winner: Ladbrokes
The best and most common customer support options are live chat, email and phone. Many international bookmakers also have FAQ sections.
Ladbrokes and Bet365 both offer 24/7 live chat, email and phone lines
We pretended to have some problems with both Ladbrokes and Bet365 and reached out to each customer support team a couple of times.
We found that both international betting sites had friendly and helpful staff so it's pretty hard to separate the two bookies in this final round.
However, because Ladbrokes has a pretty extensive FAQ section, and because they've lost every other round - we're gonna give them this one.
