SmartOdds Review
We think SmartB's SmartOdds is the best odds comparison tool in Australia. Their tool allows you to find and track price movements for all 3 domestic and international racing codes, racing futures and a handful of sports (AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer) with many more sports coming soon.
As a website that also lists hundreds of Australian bookmakers we're very happy to see that SmartOdds compares odds for over 100 bookies (word is they're not stopping there).
As well as comparing odds, their platform pulls form guides from each bookie, the tool is customisable, you can set price alerts and custom notifications, and they have a blackbook. They also have solid racing tips (including an email newsletter), they have an app (unlike Dynamic Odds or Betwatch) and a 7 day trial period.
Yes, SmartOdds costs $29 a month, there is a learning curve for all the features (including the AI tips). However, from what we've experienced over the last year, SmartOdds has the team and the drive to keep on making their software the best in Australia.
If you are serious enough about your betting to always want the best odds, then SmartOdds is a must-have.
What is SmartOdds?
Originally just a horse racing odds comparison platform built to rival the likes of Dynamic Odds and Betwatch, SmartB is a full sports and racing ecosystem. This means that the SmartB platform has fantasy sports, news articles, tipping competitions, odds comparison, and AI-powered betting tools.
In terms of odds comparison, the SmartOdds product has the aim of becoming the number one odds comparison tool in Australia. The competition for that title is not so formidable, so we think they're already there (even if they have a lot more than can do with their tool).
Specifically, SmartOdds has odds comparison from 100 Australian bookmakers, updated every 30 seconds, for all 3 racing codes both domestically and internationally plus racing futures for all the biggest events. Their sports comparisons are more limited with just some AFL, NRL, cricket and soccer markets at the moment.
SmartOdds' platform is a bit much to take in at first but it's pretty powerful once you're more familiar with the features - we really like the price alerts feature which will email you when a runner you are tracking hits a certain price!
Why Do We Recommend SmartOdds?
Some of the things we like about SmartOdds are:
- Offers all the functionality of Dynamic Odds (official bookmaker API integrations, TAB totes)
- Includes features of Betwatch (smaller bookmakers, free trial, mobile optimised)
- Compares around 100 bookmakers (vs. 20ish for Dynamic Odds and 50ish for Betwatch)
- The only odds comparison tool with an app
- The only odds comparison tool with sports
- They gave us a free account ;)
Plus they seem to be constantly upgrading their tool with new features like price alerts, a blackbook, tips and form intergrations etc.
All in all their tool is useful for any bettor who thinks the value of getting the best price outweighs the $29.99 monthly subscription. i.e. if you bet enough to make $30 extra by getting the best price then it's probably worth the investment.
Of course, the tool also opens up other opportunities like finding value bets when a bookie is slower than the rest to change their prices.

What's new with SmartOdds? (Updated Oct 1, 2026)
SmartOdds has added a bunch of extras features in recent months that allow you to compare prices, follow market movement, review historical odds, monitor runners, and set notifications for Australian horse racing, greyhound racing and harness racing, as well as international racing, and selected sports markets across rugby league, AFL, cricket, soccer and basketball.
Basically this makes the tool more of a complete place for sharp bettors to follow markets. For example:
- Price notifications to follow target prices automatically, instead of reopening the same market every few minutes.
- Historical odds and fluctuations give you the context behind a price.
- Custom layouts let you configure the screen around the information you actually want to see.
- SmartBook and watchlists help you track horses, greyhounds or other runners within the platform.
- Racing futures allow you to compare longer-term racing markets.
In our original review we also mentioned that there were some bugs and issues with slow loading. We're happy to report these have been largely fixed.
Our next biggest criticism of SmartOdds hass to do with their AI tips - more work needs to be done to explain where their 'confidence scores' come from, what prices they relate to, and make it clearer how punters can use these numbers to effectively interpret whether a bet is worth taking or not.
Should we interpret that the AI gives these three horses a 58%, 50% and 70% chance of winning respectively?
In the first race pictured above we get an 11% chance of third place for the runner that got a 58% chance of winning in the above tip? A runner with a price of 19.00 is given a 78% chance of finishing 1st? Either we are missing something that could be better explained or this AI is hallucinating...
What's the Future for SmartOdds?
As well as fixing bugs and making everything faster and more reliable SmartOdds has a few exciting things in the pipeline. This includes AI models to predict odds fluctuations (currently 92% accurate, aiming for 97%) and another based on the Kelly Criterion to suggest the optimal stake size.
I.e. these AI systems could, eventually and potentially, recommend what to bet on, when to bet, how much to bet, and which bookmaker to use.
