Unibet vs Bet365 - What's the best betting site in Australia?
We think Unibet and Bet365 are two of the top betting sites in Australia. Each offers great odds, plenty of markets, live streaming and tons of other betting features - but which one is better??
Unibet is well-known for its racing odds and markets but it also has strong US Sports, esports and novelty betting sections.
Bet365, is a classic British betting site and as you would expect its soccer, cricket and rugby odds and markets are particularly strong.
So, what's the best Australian betting site?
It came down to the wire but our experts reckon one of these bookies is better
Round 1: Unibet vs Bet365 - Odds
Odds are almost always the most important factor you'll want to consider when looking for the best betting sites - so does Unibet or Bet365 have better odds?
The question is pretty straightforward but the answer is not so easy to find.
Knowing which betting site has the best odds is tough because big bookies like Unibet and Bet365 offer thousands of different markets every day, and their odds for each event are normally very similar.
What is more, we've found that Unibet and Bet365 both consistently offer the highest odds in Australia.
For example, for racing, the betting site with the best odds heavily depends on the runner, and the race.
You can see from the images above that Unibet (top) has slightly better odds for the first and third races but Bet365's (bottom) odds are better for the second race
In general, Unibet has better odds for horse racing and especially Australian horse racing.
When it comes to pre-match sports betting the same is true.
Unibet generally has the best odds for pre-match sports betting - of course, this is still dependent on the event and market you want to bet on.
Again, in almost all cases, Unibet (above) has slightly better odds than Bet365 (below)
However, when it comes to live betting and smaller betting markets the results are more even and Bet365 tends to be the most generous betting site.
Despite this, our overall winner is still Unibet, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to create an account with both bookies and then find the best odds for the exact bet that you want to make.
Round 2: Unibet vs Bet365 - Markets
A betting market is an individual outcome that you can bet on. Therefore, the more betting markets, the more choices you have as a punter.
Choices are great because they mean that you don't just have the option of betting on the winner of a match but, depending on the sport, you can bet on tons of other things like try-scorers, behinds, corners, dunks or rounds.
Again, both Bet365 and Unibet are the two Australian betting sites with the most betting markets.
We checked a bunch of pre-match and in-play sports events and found that Unibet had the most betting markets for some sports, often more niched sporting events, whereas Bet365 had more betting markets for popular sports and in-play matches.
Overall, Bet365 had more betting markets then Unibet although this can vary by sport, and even match - so Bet365 only just wins this one.
You can see that for these two NBA matches Unibet (above) had 204 combined betting markets whereas Bet365 (below) had 444 in total. This is not always the case but after checking many different sports Bet365 came out on top.
Round 3: Unibet vs Bet365 - Apps
Betting apps are really popular in Australia and therefore it makes sense to evaluate if Unibet's or Bet365's app is better.
Both the Unibet and Bet365 apps can be downloaded for free from the App Store for iPhone and from each bookmaker's website for Android.
We've used the Bet365 and Unibet apps for some time now. Over that some time now, we've seen both apps improve from average to pretty good. Both apps offer cash out, live streaming and quick mobile payment options.
However, with their new re-design, we think that the Bet365 app is a bit better than the Unibet app. That's because it is easier to navigate, faster to load and packed with plenty of odds, markets and features like the Bet365 bet builder and live betting stats.
The Unibet app is also great, especially for racing, with tons of form guides and tips but it doesn't quite match the usability and simplicity of the Bet365 app.
We recommend creating your betting account using the green button below before downloading the Bet365 app - it's faster and simpler to sign up via the Bet365 website.
Round 4: Unibet vs Bet365 - Payment Methods
There two important things to consider with betting payment methods - which ones are available and are they the one's punters want?
Unibet and Bet365 both offer the most common and popular betting payment methods including Debit/Credit Card, Bank Transfer, POLi, PayPal and Apple Pay.
In fact, both Unibet and Bet365 offer 13/17 of Australia's most popular payment methods.
So what, this rounds a tie then?
No. The payment methods offered by Bet365 and Unibet may be the same in number but they're not the same in quality.
Unibet is one of the only Australian betting sites to accept the popular eWallets Neteller and Skrill and they also offer BPAY and Ecopayz - Bet365 does not.
Bet365, on the other hand, accepts Cheque, Paysafecard, ClicktoPay and they have a Bet365 Cash Card - Unibet does not.
Therefore the best betting site when it comes to payment methods is Unibet. BPAY, Neteller, Skrill and Ecopayz are just better quality payment options than Cheque, Paysafecard, ClicktoPay and the Bet365 Cash Card.

Round 5: Unibet vs Bet365 - Live Streaming
Live streaming is the single best way to watch, experience and stay up to date with the matches or races that you're betting on.
Bet365 and Unibet both offer live streaming of horse racing, soccer, NBA, cricket and plenty more sports
But let's cut to the chase, shall we? What's the best betting site in Australia for live streaming?
Bet365 is. That's because they offer the most live streaming options as well as the best quality live streams.
Like most of the criteria we're judging these betting sites by, this is not always the case, however, generally, it is.
In fact, Bet365 has 150,000+ live streams every year vs Unibet's 30,000+ live streams.
Unibet has a lot of live streaming options every day, but often fewer than Bet365 - For example, they had only 4 live tennis streams when we wrote this article
You can watch hundreds of racing, soccer, esports, tennis and NBA streams on Bet365 - For example, they had 7 live tennis streams when we wrote this article
Round 6: Unibet vs Bet365 - Live Betting
The live betting segment of the iGaming industry is the fastest growing and most lucrative part so naturally, we think that live betting is one of the most important factors when trying to find the best betting sites.
Like any betting market, you want high odds, and plenty of options when betting in-play.
From Round One we found that Unibet tends to have better odds than Bet365 but it's more even for live betting. On the other hand, we saw that Bet365 tends to have more live betting markets than Unibet.
So Unibet and Bet365 are pretty evenly matched. What's the decider then? The live betting experience.
Both Unibet and Bet365 have live graphics so you can follow games but these are pretty similar.
Bet365 has a few more stats but Unibet does have an external link to see detailed stats. The Unibet live betting platform also looks and feels nice and so, by the skin of their teeth, Unibet takes out this round.
Note that to bet live in Australia you must do it over the phone.
The Unibet live betting platform looks a bit better than the Bet365 live betting site
The Bet365 live betting platform is very similar to Unibet's and your favourite will probably be based on your own personal preference.
Round 7: Unibet vs Bet365 - Customer Support
The scores are tied after 6 fiercely fought rounds and yes, customer support is going to be the deciding factor.
Customer support is normally not that big of a deal for most punters but it can give you an insight into how much you will be valued as a customer at a betting site.
Unibet and Bet365 have live chats, phone numbers and email adresses you can use to contact them
There is, however, one key difference between Bet365 and Unibet. Unibet's live chat is only open from 9am to 2am AEST whereas Bet365's is open 24/7.
Therefore, Bet365 takes the cake as the betting site with the best customer support options.
Unibet Vs Bet365: The Result
What a thrilling match but the time has now come... the answer to your prayers is about to be given... the best betting site in Australia is... Bet365
Round 1: Betting Odds - Unibet
Round 2: Betting Markets - Bet365
Round 3: Betting Apps - Bet365
Round 4: Payment Methods - Unibet
Round 5: Live Streaming - Bet365
Round 6: Live Betting - Unibet
Round 7: Customer Support - Bet365
Unibet vs Bet365 - What is the best betting site in Australia?
Bet365 is slightly, marginally, a tiny little bit, better than Unibet.
Bet365 has a few more betting markets, slightly better betting apps, the most live streaming options and a 24/7 customer support team making it better than Unibet and the best betting site in Australia.
We have to give Unibet credit though. They do have marginally better odds, better payment options and a live better platform that we prefer.
The Unibet vs Bet365 match was close, and it's likely that one or more of the things we discussed are more important to you than the others.
Therefore, we reckon that creating an account with both Bet365 and Unibet is probably the best option. That way you can test both, compare odds and come up with your own best betting site.

We think that Bet365 has the best app.
