SugarCastle Overview
Lyndon Hsu, director of BetGalaxy, managing partner of BetBetBet, previous chairman of BetCloud and Joint Chair of the Victorian Bookmakers Association for almost 20 years, launched his latest betting site, SugarCastle in August 2024.
Unsurprisingly, SugarCastle uses the BetCloud software Lyndon was instrumental in bringing to our screens. This means good racing fixed odds and extensive same game multi and stat markets. It also means no live streaming and limited futures options. We also found their app a bit buggy.
Overall, SugarCastle is much the same as the rest of Australia's BetCloud betting sites but with a bit more to work on so they're unlikely to become your preferred betting site if you sign up.
🥇 Highlight: Quick sign-up process
💩 Biggest Flaw: Difficult to see on the app

Full SugarCastle Review
SugarCastle's animations and graphics have a vintage sports inspiration, and SugarCastle claims to ‘take you on a journey to an era of style’.
Firstly, it must be stated that Sugar Castle doesn’t offer anything that isn’t out of the ordinary for a BetCloud bookmaker. This includes perks such as Same Race Multis and Same Games Multis, Quaddies, Protest Payout, Mystery Bets, Blended Bets, Best Tote and Protest Payout.
The odds by SugarCastle are reasonable. At times, they can surpass major bookies and other times fall short, but generally, it's give or take 10-20 cents.
For example, at Manawatu Sportsbet had on fixed odds King Harvest $2.80, Jane’s Panama $4.60 and Goldstar Koda $5.50. SugarCastle offered $3.00 for King's Harvest, $4.30 for Jane's Panama and $5.00 for GoldStar Koda. SugarCastle was able to offer slightly better odds for the favourite but less for the second and third market elect.
The SugarCastle app is a bit tricky to use. This is because the animations and graphics, along with the colour scheme, are a little too heavy. The yellow background can sometimes be overpowering, and with the black text, it can often be hard to read. The app is glitchy at times and crashes, so there is work to be done there.
Live streaming is not on offer. SugarCastle does not provide tips. Expect basic analysis on the occasional runner with comments along the lines of - ‘Away Early’, ‘Favourite Distance’ and so on.
Customer support is 24/7, but has been reported to be inaccurate on the App Store. It is also worth noting that the App Store reviews are alarming, with more negative ones than positive.
Many of the sports markets on offer by SugarCastle are thin, but the racing markets are reasonable. Expect nothing in the department of promotions and offers also seems non-existent.
Overall, there's some work for SugarCastle to do, and other BetCloud bookmakers have more to offer. SugarCastle receives a very bleak 2.2/5 stars.

SugarCastle offered $3.00 for King's Harvest, $4.30 for Jane's Panama and $5.00 for GoldStar Koda.
