Betmax launched in 2024 and is an extremely well put together bookmaker and one of the best on offer in Australia to date.

Betmax offers in-depth racing analysis including statistics you will struggle to find with any other bookmakers such as information about a horse's past 20 runs. Betmax also offers other unique stats that are helpful for punters trying to find winners.

The customer service is friendly, fast, and 24/7. Withdrawals are processed twice a day, including weekends, so you never have to wait long for your funds to arrive.

The Betmax app is excellent and seamless. It is fast, easy to use and is glitch-free. There are plenty of resources and links on the app and website for everything you need. Withdrawals can be easily cancelled if they haven’t been processed if you change your mind.

Betmax also has a strong social media presence, something that most bookmakers don't offer. This includes consistent activity on their Instagram and Facebook pages posting regular tips, pointers, and advice for punters, analysis, and other handy information you might need to know. Given the popularity of social media sites like Facebook & Instagram, it is good to see Betmax go above and beyond just offering the basics of being a bookmaker. Another big positive of Betmax is that they have an AFL and NRL futures market where you can select teams to win the Premiership, miss the Top 8, and to make the Grand Final. This is a market that isn’t available with many bookmakers across Australia.

Betmax doesn’t do live streaming which is a bit of a shame but thankfully they've mostly fixed the terrible odds they had when they first launched. In fact, Michael Migliore from Betmax had this to say about their odds when letting us know of the changes they made:

"I totally agree our odds on Racing were awful but I have changed the algorithm on all three codes and while we are probably in most cases a roll below the big boys 9 hours out, our odds have improved significantly for the next to go punters and even those having a look 5-10 minutes out. In some cases, we are betting a better price than the Tab on one to two runners at the top end of the market along with those in double figures.

We have also been betting $1.95 lines on every game of AFL and NRL for the season and we will continue this for the remainder of the year."

Betmax certainly sets the bar in terms of bookmakers in most avenues and that's why they're one of our favourite new betting sites in Australia.

The racing analysis on offer by Betmax is some of the best in Australia. Not only do they cover comments about form but there are some exceptional stats on offer such as first, second, third, and fourth up records, gear changes, if blinkers are on, and so on. What is also extremely impressive is the offering of stats on a horse’s past 20 recent runs. This includes what the horse came, the date, distance, odds, track, barrier, track conditions, class, jockey, weight, and who won the race.

Having this kind of data for a whopping previous 20 runs is very unique to see. On top of this, Betmax provides accurate speed-maps and market flucs are available.

Extensive tips are offered via their social media including best bets, Same Race Multis, sports multis, max bets, max multis, and so on. It is rare but great to see a bookmaker utilise social media to offer tips and other handy information to punters via sites like Instagram and Facebook.

There is no live betting on Betmax but they do offer live streaming.

The racing odds Betmax provides used to be awful. An example was this race below at Wyong. Odds have been compared to Sportsbet who is a major bookmaker and VikingBet, a smaller bookmaker who has some of the worst odds on offer in Australia.

As you can see above, by using one race as an example, Betmax was paying almost one-third less than Sportsbet for the main 2 hopes in the market. They did not offer any fixed odds prices at all that are better than Sportsbet to compensate in that same race.

Now however, after making some changes, Betmax is competitive, even if they aren't always the best. Here's an example of their odds at Ascot where they had prices slightly below, or equal to Sportsbet at the top of the market.
