Betting Tip: Melbourne by 8

ANZAC Day Eve should be a gripping affair, with two big named teams on the eve of a public holiday, which should scream a full house - or as many Richmond and Melbourne supporters that are still interested. Both teams have had the week off, but Richmond need a year to get over their huge list of injuries. Melbourne should win comfortably against the Richmond's twos, but I think this is a danger of a game to bet too comfortably on.

Betting Tip: Essendon by 4

Always one of the greatest games of the year, Essendon will be gutted with the result last year after defecating in their mattress in the last quarter. Both teams coming off a good win last week, with Pies finally finding some form and smashing well-placed Port Adelaide, while Essendon just got the job done against the finally found form, Adelaide. The whole of South Australia not happy from at least one of these teams.

Essendon have had an extra day to rest, from Friday to Thursday and I think they will narrowly get the job done, but it will be an epic spectacle.

Head to Head: GWS by 16

The lesser concerned ANZAC Day game and a dip of the toe into Canberra for a 20th team, should be another thriller with AFL Premiership Favourite GWS and last years runner up Brisbane. The out of form Brisbane who got drenched last week against the Cats, but will really be fighting for their lives (or season) as the orange tsunami hits Canberra. Although GWS just got handed their first loss to Carlton last week, they are in much better form and should succeed under the high profile game.

Head to Head: Port Adelaide by 30

Although this has been a volatile and difficult to predict season to date, the common factor thus far is that St Kilda have really failed to deliver and build from their form last year. Apart from getting pumped by the Pies last week, Port have been looking solid enough, especially after their demolition of Essendon. Considering the Dons bet the Saints the week prior to that, I'm pretty confident Port and their young dynamic midfield will get the job done.

Head to Head: Adelaide by 45

Adelaide have been the opposite of starting like a house on fire, for this year and pretty much every game they have played in. However, enough is enough, they should have their stuff together by now to actually come out firing and play a full 4 quarters and get their 2nd win of the year against a really struggling North Melbourne. The Kangaroos never looked a chance last week in one of the few opportunities they would have for a W this year, and will be vulnerable for Adelaide to actually gain some confidence into their season.

Head to Head: Carlton by 15

This is shaping up to be an epic round, and my most confident tip is that this will be the match of the round. The Cats are the last undefeated team, however they are yet to face anyone inside the top 7. If it was at the Cattery, I'd be backing Geelong, seeing how the entire city always manages to go to their home games. However, even though it's their home game, it's at the G (as this is the year the AFL decided to favour Carlton) and the house cat supporters of Geelong refuse to travel down the West Gate, so there'll be less confidence for their team.

Reality check for the Cats, expecting Carlton to come out strong.

Head to Head: Western Bulldogs by 13

Speaking of a confident tip, this game would have to be my least confident. Both teams have been very volatile, with good wins and bad losses. Although Bulldogs list is very strong, and our Brownlow Favourite Caleb Serong will be in strife against the likes of seasoned midfielders Treloar and The Bont. Both teams have a few potential missing with concussion, most notably Libba who really helps the Dogs midfield, that in combination with it being in Perth, adds a bit of weight to Fremantle. However, I'm still backing the dogs tow in, and Bevo to be safe for another week.

Head to Head: Gold Coast by 15

It's hard not to cut the Eagles a bit of slack after there last two performances. There definitely not ready to start betting on them to win, but they should definitely come within 5 goals, considering Gold Coast haven't been going too flash. Harley Reid is now a very short Rising Star Favourite after his last few games, but Waterman is the man who has been consistent all year. I still can't bring myself to tip West Coast, but from recent history, I don't think it will be a blow out at all.

Second on the ladder v Second from the bottom - I think will go exactly as it sounds it will. Although Hawthorn may be riding the high from their first win last week - it was only the Kangaroos, while Sydney destroyed Gold Coast, who destroyed Hawthorn by almost the same margin the week before.
