Betting Tip: Essendon by 12

As a Dons supporter, it would be natural for me to presume they will roll over and let Sydney have their way with them now. However, I do think Essendon have one more fight left in them, to show they are a developing side.

People are saying the Swans are back, but I think that is far from true. They only managed to play half a quarter of decent footy against Collingwood when it mattered last week, with Heeney and Warner showing why they are one of the best duos going around.

By right this game should be a blow out with Sydney going back to their stellar form, and Essendon being Essendon will let it happen. But I think there are still a few more wild cards left this season, and a Friday night upset is one of them.

Betting Tip: Gold Coast by 22

Here come the Suns, doo-doo-doo-doo. But, it's way too late to start playing away from home Gold Coast, even though Dimma said they're still vying for finals 🙄

Melbourne are officially cooked this season, with more fingers pointing at bad culture and Trac wanting out (Essendon pls).

Still, Melbourne have had their way of having a bit of dog in them this season, and never dying. I can see them putting up a bit of a fight, but Gold Coast will be too strong at home.

Betting Tip: GWS by 26

The Giants are one of the hottest teams to watch at the minute, winning two of their last three games by two points, and the other a 6 goal final quarter come from behind win against the other hottest team, the Lions.

The Orange Tsunami is getting some real good finals experience in these close games and high ranking teams, with this game being the only top 8 game this round.

Fraudmantle are a sinking ship who have dropped the ball on the last two games, and I think will drop the next two harder games, and fall out of the 8 - for an unworthy Carlton or Essendon to sneak in.

Betting Tip: Brisbane by 36

The Pies should also have mentally checked out after Sydney came from behind and ruined their finals chances last week. It would be very Collingwood of them to have a crack here, but there is more on the line for the Lions.

Brisbane were due for a modesty check loss, which dished out by a worth adversary in GWS last week. They will be happy to revisit last years grand final and step on Collingwood's throat, and claw back their way to a top 4 finish.

Betting Tip: Adelaide by 9

Another one of the biggest nights on the South Australian calendar will be a belter to watch.

Port have seriously regained their form, and are sitting pretty in position 2. Adelaide, are far from the ladder but have been in some serious tight form of late coming home, which they left way too late just like they did last year.

It is always a good hit-out on the showdown, and I think bigger brother Adelaide will cause an upset and possibly ruin Port's top 4 potential.

Betting Tip: St Kilda by 7

Although they are fourth, I think the Cats are one of the biggest pretenders in the top 8. They have seemed to play their decent wins when the other team is currently on their low momentum swing, which has plagued every team this year at some stage.

Incredible luck on the Cats behalf, but I think an in-form St Kilda, as average as they are, will cause an upset at Marvel.

St Kilda will see this as an opportunity to be relevant (which they are not) and will strike hard against the Cats.

Betting Tip: Western Bulldogs by 22

The most inconsistent, yet list wise nearly the best, team in the league really needs to pull their finger out and put together some consecutive wins. We've spoken about this each week, but it's at the point of the year where win one week and lose the next is not acceptable.

Kangaroos have been a hard hitting fast side this year, and I think both teams would have a decent midfield match up - with superiority at the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs should win relatively comfortably, but I can see North coming out aggressively early to give them a scare.

Yawn. I thought it was incredibly funny that Hawthorn needed to pick up some percentage over the last few rounds of the season to pip Carlton and thought this would be a game they would try and do it - yet they landed it all last week against the Blues.

I think this game will be a similar result, and that the Hawks are chasing down Bulldogs percentage so that they can finish sixth.

So, obviously, Hawks in a blow out. Richmond to score bugger all.

Carlton has been absolutely battered last week after their embarrassing loss to Hawthorn. With few bodies left to run on the ground, many people are tipping a West Coast home game to put a nail in their coffin.

However, I am not writing them off just yet. The Blues like being the underdog, and Patty Cripps, the man with sorest shoulders in Australia, will give it his everything to get them to the finals.
