Footscray v Melbourne Tips - Round 21 (2/8/2024)

Betting Tip: Footscray by 10

First hit out of the week has got me in all sorts. In one hand, the Doggies have been unstoppable the last 3 weeks, comfortably defeating Sydney, Geelong and Carlton. All of whom were placed top 4 when the Bulldogs lined up against them. However, they have had a topsy turvy year, which has to be noted.

And on the other hand, the Dogs rarely get up against Melbourne of late, stemming back to their Covid based smashing in the 2021 Grand Final. But if the Doggies were ever going to do it flog them, it would be now against a battling Melbourne side.

On a third hand, Bulldogs played on Sunday and only have a small break. I think this was Carltons fatal flaw last Friday night.

I can see this game going in any direction, except definitely not Melbourne smashing. Maybe reverting the name back to Footscray will be enough to break the perceived curse with their central town foe.

West Coast v Gold Coast Tips - Round 21 (2/8/2024)

Betting Tip: West Coast by 15

Another interesting game when looking at it simply. Gold Coast = suck playing away, West Coast = good at home. Although, if the Suns are any hope for the finals, they will need to win every single game. But, I don't think they will get close to the finals, and this Friday night will be the final nail in the coffin.

Both teams had an alright effort against top rated rival teams Brisbane and Fremantle last week, but both died in the last quarter. West Coast will want to bring some positivity into next year, and the Suns terrible away from home form is enough for me to tip the Eagles in an upset.

West Coast to Win 2.80 ✅ at Neds

      North Melbourne v Richmond Tips - Round 21 (3/8/2024)

Betting Tip: North Melbourne by 28

I've been really getting around the Kangaroos of late. Besides getting pumped 2 of their last 3 games, they are fun to watch - while Richmond put me to sleep.

I do think North will be a good bet for top 8 next year, and will want to bring some positivity to the end of the year. Although, it's not all going to happen and the young guns at the Roos will have some experienced hurdles to get past this week with Dusty, Baker and Bolton. But I think they'll be up for the challenge.

      North to win comfortably.

North Melbourne Line (-8.5) 1.90 ✅ at Neds

      Same Game Multi Tip:

      • Leg 1: North Melbourne Line (-8.5) ✅

        Geelong v Adelaide Tips - Round 21 (3/8/2024)

        Betting Tip: Geelong by 34

I think Adelaides heart stopping win against Essendon was just an outlier (or a testament to how much the Bombers love to s**t the bed). But, they were incredibly underwhelming at home against Hawthorn last week.

The Cats are pretty safe for finals with their run home, but they really need to buck up their game or risk pulling an Essendon. They've lost to all the teams in the current top 8 that they have played in the last 3 months, including Carlton, Sydney, GWS and Port. It is the only thing consistent in the season of late, no one cares about smashing average teams.

        Geelong to win easily.

        Geelong Line (-19.5) 1.90 ❌ at Neds

          Collingwood v Carlton Tips - Round 21 (3/8/2024)

          Betting Tip: Carlton by 24

Collingwood in the past have been the kings of pulling off the unthinkable - but are they too far gone to dream of finals?

Yes, in this viewers opinion. They have their first win in four weeks on the weekend, and an unconvincing one at that against lowly Richmond. Last years premiers truly resemble a dropped meat pie rather than anything hot this year.

Carlton, desperately need to pull their finger out to come into the finals with any sort of respect. They are also one win out of the last four - although three of their games were against top 8 teams, and not all below the 8 like Collingwood's.

Carlton to win, but the Pies to show some sort of heart, and Cripps to show why he is the Brownlow Favourite, and not Daicos.

Carlton to Win (1-39) 2.15 ❌ at Neds

          Same Game Multi Tip:

          • Leg 1: Carlton to Win (1-39) ❌

          • Leg 3: Jack Crisp 1+ Goals ✅

            Port Adelaide v Sydney Tips - Round 21 (3/8/2024)

            Betting Tip: Sydney by 16

It's been such a funny year for footy. And I mean both, hilarious and strange. The rise and fall of Essendon for the former, and the rapid in-and-out of form for every single team.

We're currently in a Sydney down round, which I've been saying for weeks will snap back. Port, have been yo-yoing all year, so nothing new there.

Tipping this to be match of the round, I like both teams midfields, and think (and hope) that it will be a free flowing high scoring affair. Sydney should get the job done, and really cement their spot on top of the ladder - which isn't a lock of a late.

Sydney to Win 1.85 ❌ at Neds

            Same Game Multi Tip:

            • Leg 1: Sydney line (-1.5) ❌
            • Leg 2: Jason Horne-Francis 1+ Goals ✅
            • Leg 3: Zak Butters 1+ Goals ❌

              GWS v Hawthorn Tips - Round 21 (4/8/2024)

              Betting Tip: GWS by 14

The Hawks are so close to finals they can smell it. Winning this would all but secure their place. But, GWS are hardly going to roll over and let this happen. They lost narrowly to Hawks less than 2 months ago by a kick in Tasmania - where Hawthorn are difficult to beat.

This time, it'll be on home turf for the Giants, where they have only lost twice this year to Sydney when they were on a roll, and Bulldogs when GWS were in a dark place. The Giants are in a much better place now, and I think they will be too strong for the Hawks, and give them the smack they most desperately need.

GWS to Win (1-39) 2.30 ✅ at Neds

              Same Game Multi Tip:

              • Leg 1: GWS to Win (1-39) ✅
              • Leg 2: Dylan Moore 2+ Goals
              • Leg 3: Mabior Chol 2+ Goals ✅

                Essendon v Fremantle Tips - Round 21 (4/8/2024)

                Betting Tip: Essendon by 4

It's crazy to know that this is only the second, and last time this home and away season, that the Dockers are playing at the G. Freo can hold their head up high this season with how they have gone overall, and away from home. The Dons, should bury their head in shame on the other hand. Dropping some absolute sitters to ruin their finals hope.

However. Essendon are the biggest mental team in the AFL. They play good when everything is going well, and when the chips are down, oh boy are they down. But at the minute, they honestly have nothing to lose. Their own supporters seem to hate them, no one is talking about the Essendon edge (outside a joking format), and there is no pressure to perform.

I'm tipping an upset at the G with the Bombers to make more confusion of this season, and Jimmy to pull his hair out for a few more weeks of uncertainty.

Essendon to Win (1-39) 2.85 ✅ at Neds

                Same Game Multi Tip:

                • Leg 1: Essendon to Win (1-39) ✅
                • Leg 2: Josh Treacy 2+ Goals ✅
                • Leg 3: Sam Switkowski 1+ Goals ❌

                  St Kilda v Brisbane Tips - Round 21 (4/8/2024)

                  Betting Tip: Brisbane by 18

I don't really understand why teams play each other twice in 7 weeks, but that isn't up to me decide. Nevertheless, I think the result will be all but exactly the same as it was back in June when the two teams met.

Although St Kilda managed to get on top of Sydney and put the final nail in the Essendon coffin, I don't think they are the team to hush the roaring Lion.

Hopefully Ross lets the play flow and it is another high scoring affair - last time there was 10 multiple goal kickers for the game.

Brisbane to Win (1-39) 2.15 ❌ at Neds

                  Same Game Multi Tip:

                  • Leg 1: Brisbane to Win (1-39) ❌
                  • Leg 2: Cooper Sharman 2+ Goals ❌
                  • Leg 3: Mitch Owens 2+ Goals ❌

Same Game Multi is paying 23.24 ❌ with Neds (29th of July).
