Carlton v Port Adelaide Tips - Round 20 (26/7/2024)

Betting Tip: Port Adelaide by 22

Favouring the underdog to win this only top 8 hit-out on a well deserved Friday night game. Both teams coming off very average and unconvincing wins, against Richmond and North Melbourne.

I hate to be one to carry on about umpires, but North were robbed a chance of a great upset last week with a few too many 50/50 decisions in Carltons favour late in the last term.

This will be the first time this season that a team was the last team to play on a Sunday, and now have to play on a Friday. The AFL have been trying to stamp this one out to give teams a proper rest, but this one obviously slipped through the cracks. It does make a difference and after Carlton's lacklustre Sunday performance, I'm betting on the Port.

    North Melbourne v Geelong Tips - Round 20 (27/7/2024)

Betting Tip: North Melbourne by 12

After Kangaroos gutsy performance against Carlton, I'm predicting a big upset here against the Cats, who were atrocious against the Bulldogs last week.

Carlton absolutely hammered Geelong a month ago, while North were very much up to the challenge on the weekend against the Blues. Kangaroos young midfield is looking better each week, our rising star tip George Wardlaw becoming a real shin boner and Larkey can slot them from anywhere.

Geelong on the other hand, do have some young guns on the rise, but are limited due to some perceived reliability on their aging stars. While the old boys Cameron and Dangerfield at Geelong could easily run a muck, I think the young Kangaroos will be up to the challenge.

North Melbourne to Win (1-39) 4.50 at Bet Right

    Same Game Multi Tip:

    • Leg 1: North Melbourne to Win (1-39)
    • Leg 2: Jeremy Cameron 3+ Goals

      Gold Coast v Brisbane Tips - Round 20 (27/7/2024)

Betting Tip: Gold Coast by 4

Bit of a theme with my tips this week, but going for the third underdog in a row. To be fair two of these have been home teams, which is exactly why I'm backing the Suns.

There is probably no other team more well-equipped to end Gold Coast's ridiculous only winning at home stat this year, than Brisbane. The climate is the same, and it's only an hour down the road for their supporters to go and support, and most importantly - Brisbane are hot at the minute.

Brisbane gave them a touch up back in May, which was at the Gabba. But the little brother Gold Coast at home streak has put every team to bed, and I think their midfield is a good match up against Brisbanes.

Gold Coast, in a close one.

Gold Coast to Win (1-39) 2.90 at Neds

      Same Game Multi Tip:

      • Leg 1: Gold Coast to Win (1-39)
      • Leg 2: Cam Rayner 2+ Goals ✅
      • Leg 3: Kai Lohmann 2+ Goals

Same Game Multi is paying 29.02 with Neds (22nd of July).

        St Kilda v Essendon Tips - Round 20 (27/7/2024)

        Betting Tip: Essendon by 14

While most Essendon supporters have thrown in the towel after last weeks abysmal performance, this Essendon tragic thinks there is still a glimmer of hope. If they lose this week, the finals will be very difficult - but with the season being the way it is, not impossible.

Saints have had an average year, but have managed to pull off some great performances, most notable against Sydney a few weeks ago. They only lost to Essendon by 4 points earlier in the year, and with the Bombers current state they have every right to put them to bed.

However, I do think Essendon have the stronger team overall, and will prevail to give us supporters some sort of hope for the next few weeks.

Essendon to Win (1-39) 2.25 at Neds

        Same Game Multi Tip:

        • Leg 1: Essendon to Win (1-39)
        • Leg 2: Mitch Owens 2+ Goals
        • Leg 3: Dan Butler 2+ Goals

          Melbourne v GWS Tips - Round 20 (27/7/2024)

          Betting Tip: GWS by 4

Predicting this one to be match of the round, and one that could impact the top 8 the most. GWS have been battling away fine of late, but they have a very difficult run home. Their next 5 games are against teams ranked 3-11.

6 points separate all these teams, so every single game will be like their season depends on it for GWS. This will give them good finals exposure, but they were up for the task a few weeks ago when they schooled Carlton.

Melbourne, is in a very similar boat, with a few easier games than GWS coming up, but are on the lower side of the points. Even if Gawn makes it back, I think GWS are looking too strong at this stage.

GWS to Win 2.02 ✅ at Neds

          Same Game Multi Tip:

          • Leg 1: GWS to Win ✅
          • Leg 2: Bayley Fritsch 2+ Goals ✅
          • Leg 3: Jacob van Rooyen 2+ Goals

            Fremantle v West Coast Tips - Round 20 (27/7/2024)

            Betting Tip: Fremantle by 12

The Eagles short lived excitement period may be well and truly over, but the home town derby often defies expectations, seeing how the Eagles bet Freo by 6 goals only 3 months ago.

Since then though, West Coast have only managed one win, while Fremantle have been silently achieving to a prominent spot of 4th on the ladder. Although Fremantle aren't on anyones radar as they keep dropping easy games, they are sitting fourth and managed to beat Sydney at home. They are a premiership contender.

And, West Coast are certainly not. I don't read the West Australian, but I'm presuming Reid's head is as big as his game day stones. Although he is far from the messiah yet, and even if he does get the team going a bit this week, Fremantle are too well drilled all over.

Fremantle to Win (1-39) 2.20 ✅ at Neds

            Same Game Multi Tip:

            • Leg 1: Fremantle to Win (1-24)
            • Leg 2: Oscar Allen 2+ Goals
            • Leg 3: Harley Reid 1+ Goals

              Collingwood v Richmond Tips - Round 20 (28/7/2024)

              Betting Tip: Collingwood by 16

A game that by right should draw 80k+ to the G, will be lucky to get half of that at Sunday lunch time. Richmond looking really good for the spoon, and Collingwood are looking even better to be the first of the top 13 teams to lose their final chance.

I'm not convinced that Collingwood will give them a belting, and wouldn't be surprised if Richmond snuck a late win in, but I'm being conservative with my tips. Richmond showed some promise last week, and both teams will basically be fielding their twos, at the G.

I'm predicting it will be not a bad game, albeit not the most skilful, and worth going to the game if you're able - mostly because, if I hear BT say Steely Green's mum named him after Steely Dan one more time, I will throw the remote into the TV.

Collingwood to Win (1-39) 2.10 ✅ at Neds

              Same Game Multi Tip:

              • Leg 1: Richmond Line (+25.5)
              • Leg 2: Jamie Elliot 2+ Goals
              • Leg 3: Nathan Kreuger 2+ Goals (VOID)

Same Game Multi is paying 11.01 (VOID) with Neds (22nd of July).

                Sydney v Western Bulldogs Tips - Round 20 (28/7/2024)

                Betting Tip: Sydney by 18

The Bulldogs defied our expectations last week, and had a good win against Geelong at Geelong, after their volatile form all year suggesting they were due for a loss.

However, they are playing away again this week and over at Sydney, and that is a much tougher ask than Geelong in their current form. Bulldogs have been pretty strong of late, and are just sitting outside of the 8. Their run home is a bit more forgiving than some, so it isn't the end of the world if they drop this one.

Sydney are not looking the power house they were a month ago, but still managed to make Brisbane push everything they had to get the W against them, at the Gabba. Sydney are clearly the best side in the comp, and these losses and close games are only making them modest and compete harder. This week will be a wake up call to the Dogs that they aren't quite there.

Sydney to Win (1-39) 2.10 at Neds

                Same Game Multi Tip:

                • Leg 1: Sydney to Win (1-39)
                • Leg 2: Sam Darcy 2+ Goals
                • Leg 3: Rhylee West 2+ Goals ✅

                  Adelaide v Hawthorn Tips - Round 20 (28/7/2024)

                  Betting Tip: Adelaide by 10

This will be my match of the round. While Adelaide have left the run home too late (much like last year), they certainly have the opportunity and skills to disrupt the status quo and shake up things more-so in the top 8 (looking at you Essendon).

Hawthorn and their incredibly unlikeable players need a good punch in the face reality check that they are not invincible and have only won tough games at home. They are a glorified Gold Coast.

Adelaide are rarely considered a tough game, but they only narrowly lost to Hawks in Melbourne last month. Their supporters are up and about after beating Essendon, and now the home ground tables have turned, I think unfortunately we will have to hear more Crom garbage.

Adelaide to Win (1-39) 2.45 at Neds

                  Same Game Multi Tip:

                  • Leg 1: Adelaide to Win (1-39)
                  • Leg 2: Nick Watson 2+ Goals ✅
                  • Leg 3: Mabior Chol 2+ Goals ✅

Same Game Multi is paying 12.46 with Neds (22nd of July).
