Betting Tip: Collingwood by 4

Collingwood have a had a horror start to the year (lol), although they have also played the top 2 teams - which they helped put there (further lol). So, they'll be doing everything in their power to not be 0-3. St Kilda gave a solid effort to the Cats last week over in Geelong, so I think they will give the Pies a good run for their money, but I think the Pies will finally get on the board.

Geelong aren't the same team they were 2 years ago, and there will be a few teams giving them a touch up at home this year, St Kilda aren't anything special.

Head to Head: Adelaide by 9

Adelaide were asleep for 90% of their first hit-out last week over in Gold Coast, so I am tipping that they might actually bring some of the last quarter momentum into their first game at home and give their fans something to cheer about.

Geelong fans are notorious house-cats who refuse to travel even to Melbourne, so it'll be a tough task for them over in Adelaide and I can't see them winning this week - although their forward line on song is hard to beat, especially when Jeremy Cameron is taking on the whole team. It won't be a blow out.

Head to Head: Fremantle by 12

Fremantle surprised everyone (me at least) when they came out and gave Brisbane an almighty touch up back in Perth. Although, I don't think they will absolutely send it in Marvel against the Kangaroos.

North had a gallant effort last week, besides the scoreboard, against flag favourite GWS and they have some strong players in that can certainly make an impact, such as Davies-Uniacke, Zurhaar and even youngster Sheezel. However, Caleb Serong was absolute fire last week and will be dropping in the Brownlow Medal Odds.

I think they'll have a good crack at Fremantle to give their supporters a bit of a pulse, but I think the Dockers will come home with the 4 points.

Head to Head: Melbourne by 16

The Hawks were pretty unlucky to lose to Essendon, especially with the goal kicking difference from both teams last week. But, Melbourne are still hanging on to the idea of them being a top 4 team after belting Western Bulldogs last week - and Clayton Oliver is looking as strong as ever.

Although the Dee's forward line is still pox, they have a very decent midfield that like to score and I think the ball will be up the way a lot more than it will be in Hawthorn's aging forward line. Melbourne should win relatively comfortably.

Head to Head: Sydney by 25

Jimmy refuses to bet against Essendon, but I'm more than happy to tear them a new one. They are very lucky to have won last week, but some kudos to their accurate kicking. It is hard to rate where Hawthorn are at the minute, considering they were the last team to beat Collingwood last year (besides Brisbane), but it's safe to say they definitely won't be top 8.

Sydney on the other hand are on the top of a very good win last week and will be at home. Heeney is killing it in the middle, and they have many players who can kick a goal. Essendon's defence has their main man "Red Dog" out this week, and it'll be in there all game. Sydney will win, even if Essendon never kick a behind again.

Head to Head: Gold Coast by 4

Western Bulldog's were pretty unimpressive against Melbourne last week, getting belted by 45 points. Gold Coast, on the other hand had a solid win against Adelaide, in terrible conditions. Adelaide looked very strong late last year, and Gold Coast were comfortably on top of them most of the game.

Western Bulldogs are good on paper and have many stars that can step up any week, however after last weeks performances I think Gold Coast will just get over the line again, even in Melbourne.

Head to Head: Port Adelaide by 10

Richmond looked pretty good against Carlton last week, and aren't to be written off just yet against the Power, especially at the G. With big and smart players including Lynch, Balta and Dusty up forward, the Tigers can be dangerous in their 50.

I'm still liking Port to get the job done, with their hard running young midfield, and big Dixon up forward kicking everything. Plus, it will be interesting to see if Zerk-Thatcher continues his streak of getting a bag kicked on him weekly at Essendon, after playing a team with an actual forward line.

Head to Head: GWS by 35

The only thing that will be interesting to come from this game, will be to see how much Jesse Hogan's Coleman Medal Odds drop after he kicks a yet to be seen how big, but no doubt, a big bag.

The home crowd will be sorely disappointed, although it will be quite hot in Perth this weekend. I'm sure the GWS have trained hard enough during summer and are at peak fitness, but the Eagles often perform better in the hotter conditions. For this reason, I won't have them lose by 50+.
