Entering the Australian betting scene in 2018, Crossbet has Canada in their sights as they look to go international. Crossbet prioritizes racing above all else, and their partnership with BetMakers ensures that they are a top brand for everything related to racing.

Is Crossbet Legal?

Crossbet has not yet officially received the Ontario license, but they are one of the frontrunning betting sites to get it.

For now, they are not legal, nor available in Canada, but will soon be in the coming weeks.

For now, you can read through this review to get better acquainted with this sportsbook - and see whether or not they’ll be a good fit for you.

Is Crossbet Safe?
Ben Smith

Ben Smith

Crossbet sure is safe.

Another Aussie betting brand poised to enter Canada, one thing the folks from down under ensure is safety.

Crossbet works hard to prioritize their customers’ experiences, and that’s why they strive to be a leader in customer support and professionalism.

Take it from us, these guys are safe and trustworthy.

Crossbet Review at a Glance

Crossbet Bonus

As of right now, we’re not too sure about what kind of bonus Crossbet will offer new users.

RIght now, they’re active in Australia, where the advertisement of bonuses has been outlawed, so we really have no idea as to how generous this sportsbook will be.

Best to stay tuned, and see what will be offered.

Crossbet Odds

Crossbet’s simply can’t compete with the likes of BetRivers and Pointsbet.

While they have an extensive racing book, the odds are simply not of the best value.

If odds are a dealbreaker for you, you’re better off finding another bookie.

Crossbet Lines

Crossbet offers extensive betting lines for racing, but the same cannot be said for the rest of their sportsbook.

For example, we took a look at a hockey game that they had provided betting options for, and in a particular event, only 18 bet types had been listed.

To give some context, BetRivers offer more than 300, and they’re not even the leaders in offering hockey lines.

Crossbet Features

Crossbet runs pretty thin on features too.

They do play hosts to Crossbet TV, which is a nifty racing streaming service that can keep you updated with all the latest races that are going on.

Other than that, we couldn’t really find any features worth talking about.

Crossbet Live

Crossbet’s live betting platform isn’t anything special.

The range of live events that they offer bet types for is pretty light, and the live betting interface itself looks like it could use an allround facelift.

Crossbet Payments

We’re not too sure right now as to what kind of payment methods Crossbet will be accepting when they enter Canada.

We’ll keep you posted when we know more!

Crossbet License

As it stands right now, Crossbet has not yet acquired the Ontario license, but they are looking to be one of the first sportsbooks to do so.

They’ve shown a lot of interest in entering Canada, and made enquiries into the license. With time we’ll see if they go ahead and get the license after all.

Crossbet Support

One area in which Crossbet excels is with regard to they way they treat their customers.

They are dedicated to ensuring that all users are well looked after, and do so by offering an extensive list of ways to contact them if you run into any issues.

While we’re not sure about which support lines they’ll be offering to Canadians, we’re sure that this aspect will be brought over to their Canadian users.

Crossbet Review

Crossbet are leading the line as one of the offshore bookmakers to acquire the Ontario license that is currently being issued to some other interested sportsbooks.

For Crossbet, entering the Canadian market will be their first endeavor into international waters, as the only other market they have occupied has been Australia.

With their main priority being linked to racing, we feel that there’s an opportunity here for Crossbet to enter the Canadian market as the front-running racing site.

  • Below, we’ve listed a couple areas they excel, as well as some areas they could significantly improve:

Crossbet Pros

Great for Racing

Racing is the lifeblood of Crossbet.

As you enter the homepage, you can get a feel as to how important racing is to this operator.

Whether it’s gallops, harness or greyhounds, if you like a bet on the races, Crossbet could well become your go-to.

Crossbet TV

One of the things we liked most about Crossbet was the fact that they offered Crossbet TV - their edition of live streaming for racing.

Securing live streaming for racing is a tricky task, one that many top notch bookmakers struggle with, so the fact they’ve managed shows their commitment to racing.

While this feature is not guaranteed in Canada, it is likely that it’ll make the trip across the world with the rest of the sportsbook.

Customer Support

Crossbet takes their customer support very seriously.

They mention their focus on customer support in their mission statement, which is a place where most other sportsbooks highlight their odds, or flashy apps.

While we’re not yet sure of the ways you’ll be able to contact crossbet if you run into any issues, we are confident in the fact that this focus on customer support will spillover into their endeavor into Canada.

Fairly New Bookmaker

Crossbet was launched in 2018, so they’re still pretty young compared to the likes of Betway and Bet365.

New bookmakers always offer something fresh, and tend to do a better job of prioritizing a certain feature or sport to make a name for themselves.

In this case, it’s racing that Crossbet has prioritized, but we feel that they may need to add to this when they enter Canada.

Powered by BetMakers

BetMakers are leaders within the odds providing, and sportsbook product space, and Crossbet’s partnership with them ensures that users get the best out there in terms of racing.

BetMakers have officially announced that they remain partners with Crossbet for their entry into the Canadian market, so the sportsbook will have the same look and feel as the one in Australia.

Crossbet Cons

Crossbets has it’s issues, and compared to all Canadians have to choose from, there is plenty of room in which they can improve.

For one, their interface on desktop is a big area that could use an update, but there are more aside from this that we have covered blow:

Crossbet Cons

Limited Sportsbook

As you may have come to understand by now, Crossbet prioritizes racing, but the rest of their sportsbook is pretty slim on features and options.

They do offer the major sports that Canadians are interested in, but they don’t offer as wide a range of bet types compared to their competitors.

We feel that this is something that should be addressed once they’ve made the jump to Canada.

Interface could improve

Crossbet’s interface is very basic, and if we’re being completely honest, could use a bit more attention.

We have nothing against basic interfaces, but Crossbet’s website is a little too basic. It almost feels unfinished - as if the site is still in the process of being updated.

We’re hoping to see this improve slightly after they’ve set up in Canada.

No Online Casino

While it’s great that Crossbet is so focussed on racing, we feel that there is room for more gaming options, such as an online casino.

As it stands, they only offer odds for racing and a couple sports, which we feel is another area that could be improved.

Crossbet Final Verdict

Crossbet - The Final Verdict

Crossbet certainly has room for a lot of improvement.

They’re a solid sportsbook when it comes to all things racing related, but we feel that they need to up their game when it comes to the rest of what they offer.

That being said, if you’re a racing fan, this sportsbook could be the one for you!

Crossbet Canada Bonus
Ben Smith

Ben Smith

Crossbet has not yet released bonus information for Canada.

We also can’t get much of a read on how generous this bookie is, because the advertisement of bonuses is prohibited.

For now, all we can do is wait, but we will be the first to report on the matter when they do offer a bonus for Canadian players,

Crossbet Sports Betting

Crossbet is known for all it offers in terms of racing, however, when it comes to the rest of the sportsbook, odds, bet types, and general features are somewhat limited.

We also couldn’t find too many specials or promotions to make betting a little more fun overall.

That being said, Crossbet is a great option if you like betting on horses, or other racing events.
  • Below we can take a closer look at what Crossbet offers in terms of betting.

More about betting with Crossbet

Odds

The odds on Crossbet aren’t anything worth talking about.

The value isn’t the best, even for the racing.

Lines

While there are a fair share of lines that can be found for the racing side of the sportsbook, the markets for the sportsbook simply can’t compete with most other competitors available in Canada.

If we take one example, we noticed that Crossbet only offered 18 bet types for an NHL event, whereas betting sites like BetRivers and Pointsbet offer north of 300.

Sportsbook

Crossbet offers odds and bet types for most of the popular sports Canucks like betting on.

Despite the racing focus, you can find lines for the NHL, NBA, NFL, UFC, Soccer, and more.

In total, Crossbet offers a total of 19 sports, which isn’t the worst we’ve seen, but far from the best.

Crossbet Racing

Solid Horse Racing Bookie

Crossbet are known as an established racing betting site, but let’s see how they fair based on some crucial racing criteria we picked out:

✅ Racing Lines - Wide Variety

✅ Racing Features - Decent

❌ Racing Odds - Could be Better

More about Racing with Crossbet

✅ Racing Lines

The racing lines available on Crossbet are really good.

You can find all kinds of bet types, such as win, place, show, as well as exotics.

As you open the racing tab, you’re met with all the different races and bet types, and all round, the racing platform is easy to navigate.

✅ Crossbet offer a plenty of bet types for racing fans.

✅ Racing Features

Crossbet offer a racing calendar, as well as specific “yesterday” and “tomorrow” tabs.

They also offer tabs for races in different locations, and different types of racing.

They also offer a “next to jump” feature, which allows you to view the next races that are coming up.

✅ Overall, Crossbet’s racing features pass the test.

❌ Racing Odds

Crossbet’s racing odds are decent, but not the best out there.

The truth is that you could probably find better odds on Bet365, or Betway.

❌ Odds could improve

Crossbet Live Betting

If we’re being totally honest, Crossbet’s live betting platform simply isn’t up to scratch.

We checked out their live betting platform while there was an Olympic hockey game on, and they weren’t offering live bets for it.

Hell, there weren’t even odds offered for the game.

If you’re keen on doing some live betting, we highly recommend going with one of the following operators:

Crossbet App

An area that Crossbet excels in a little more than in some others is with regard to the app it offers.

We’ve taken a look at the app on iOS and on Android, and we were pretty impressed with what we saw.

Crossbet App Store

The app gets decent enough rankings on the app store, and is easy to use, and feels far more slick than it’s desktop counterpart.

If you’re keen on downloading the app, you can take a look at how to do so in the dropdowns below:
