All Ontario Betting Apps List Breakdown

In the rest of this article, we have created mini reviews for each of the sports betting apps in Ontario that have been listed above, which we’ve divided into:

If you’re interested in learning more about the way we’ve ranked each of the betting apps, take a look at the factors listed below. Otherwise, click on one of the red links listed above to dive into a given section, or keep scrolling!

How we’ve ranked the Ontario Betting apps

    Odds

We put the odds of all the betting apps listed here through a margin calculator, which provides us insight into how generous betting apps are.

The higher the margins offered, the more money you win if your bet comes off, so for us, this is a key measure of betting app quality.

    Features

Features are important, we check them by navigating through the app as we make bets, to see if there are any perks that can elevate the betting experience. One of our favourites is Pointsbet’s name-a-bet feature, along with Bet365's bet builder.

    Betting Lines

Betting lines or betting markets are the numbers of different bets offered for a certain event/s. The more betting lines available, the more options you have, and for us, the more options, the better.

    User experience

User experience reports are built upon how we felt when using the app whilst we placed some bets. While this can be a subjective experience, things like app load speed, navigation, and ease with which bets are placed are the key things we look at, along with reviews on the app store from other players.

    Functionality (iOS/Android)

For the functionality test, we check whether or not a given betting app is available on the iOS app store, and the Google Play Store. Most apps are available on both, but we think it’s best to check just in case.

    Security

For the security test, we check to see how an app affected our phone when we downloaded it. All betting apps are safe and secure, but we thought the best way to test this was to download the apps for ourselves first and report back to you.

    The Best Ontario Betting Apps

Listed below are the very best of the betting apps available in Ontario in terms of the value of the odds, the range of features and betting lines found on the apps, the overall user experience, functionality on iOS and Android devices, and security.

The best sports betting apps in Ontario are Betway’s app, Caesars’ Sportsbook app, and Bet365’s app, closely followed by 888sport’s app and Leovegas’ sports app.

    Betway App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Great app for soccer bet builders

✅ The best Esports betting app in ON

✅ Huge range of NBA lines

✅ Slick interface that’s a pleasure to use

    ❌Odds could improve

❌ Some accounts have been known to be limited

    Betway App Overview

Betway’s app is our top pick for sports bettors in Ontario. On Betway you can find bet builders for a range of sports, the best being for soccer, along with a wide range of esports options and NBA lines. The main reason we like Betway so much is that it’s a reliable user-friendly option, perfect for beginners and seasoned players alike.

The reports of accounts being limited are somewhat concerning, and you’ll more than likely find better odds on Caesars’ or Bet365, but Betway offers a level of quality deserving of a number one spot on this list.

    2. Caesars’ Sportsbook app

    Caesars’ App Test Results

Below are the results of our betting app test procedure for Caesars’ app:

    • Features - Could use more features: 7/10
    • User experience - Slick & smooth: 10/10
    • Betting lines - Parlays, props, spreads: 8/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at Caesar's Sportsbook app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, or below this text on mobile.

Caesars Sportsbook App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅ Well-priced betting odds

✅ Great app for prop bets

✅ User-friendly app, with fast load speeds

✅ Good options for casino players

❌ Caesars’ betting app lacks features

❌ Caesars’ betting app isn’t the best for live bets

    Caesars Overview

Caesars Sportsbook app is a great option for punters both new and old, as the odds are priced well, there is a selection of more advanced bets, such as props, parlays and spreads, the app is user-friendly, and it’s available on Android and iOS.

Bettors who like apps that are packed with features, or bettors who enjoy placing live bets may feel a little disappointed with what Caesars’ app offers, so we recommend these bettors look at other options.

Overall, Caesars’ sportsbook app is one of our favourites because it does the basics well, and the app is a pleasure to use.

    3. Bet365 App

    Bet365 App Test Results

Below you can find the results of the tests we carried out on Bet365’s app

    • Odds - Best odds in ON: 10/10
    • Features - Bet builders, cash out, streaming: 9/10
    • User experience - Slick & smooth: 10/10
    • Betting lines - The most betting lines in ON: 10/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at Bet365's app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, and below this text on mobile.

    Bet365 App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅ Best odds in ON

    ✅ Best range of lines

✅ Best bet builder in the game

✅ Best live streaming offering in ON

❌ Known to skimp on cash-out settlements

❌ Restrictions have been applied to winning accounts

    Bet365 App Overview

Bet365’s app mirrors the success of its desktop website. It can boast the best odds, the best range of lines, the best bet builder, and the best live streaming. Surely that’s enough to make it the best? Not according to us.

Bet365’s cash-out settlements are known to be on the cheap side, and considering how many bettors like to use cash out, we thought this was kind of a big deal. Secondly, many users have negative things to say about the fact that winning accounts are restricted which makes sense.

Regardless of this, Bet365 is an absolutely stellar option, that is bound to give you a memorable betting experience.

    4. 888sport Betting App

    888Sport App Test Results

Below is how 888Sport measured up in our tests:

    • Odds - Some of the best value odds in Ontario: 10/10
    • Features - Bet feed, bet builders & more: 8/10
    • User experience -Longer load speeds & can log you out: 6/10
    • Betting lines - Good, but could have more lines for basketball 7/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the 888Sport app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, or below this text on mobile.

888Sport Betting App Review in 1 minute

    Pros & Cons

✅ Live betting is clear and easy to use

✅ Intuitive toggle feature for spreads

✅ Bet builder is available & is a pleasure to use

✅ App is designed and laid out well

❌ Users have reported that the app can load slowly

❌ Users have reported that the app can log out at random

    888Sport Overview

888sport’s app is well suited to mobile bettors who like a live bet, spreads, classic features, and an all-around nice-looking app. The odds are some of the best around, and overall, 888sport is one of the more complete sports betting apps in Ontario.

The slow load speeds and the app’s tendency to log users out bring down our overall rating of the app quite significantly, which we touch on in our detailed review of 888Sport’s app.

In conclusion. 888sport’s app is worth a shot for any bettor.

    5. LeoVegas Betting App

    LeoVegas Sports App Test Results

Here’s how Leovegas measured up against our tests:

    • Odds - Very good odds 8/10
    • Features - Favourites, trending combos & more: 8/10
    • User experience -Smooth, award-winning app 10/10
    • Betting lines - Adequate, but could have more hockey lines 7/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the LeoVegas sports app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, or below this text on mobile.

    LeoVegas Sports App 1-minute review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Award-winning app with an intuitive interface

✅ Personalized bets through selecting favourites

    ✅ Trending combos available daily

✅ Live betting platform is well laid out & easy to follow

❌ Users have reported issues with customer service

❌ iPhone users have to download separate apps for sports, casino & live casino

    LeoVegas App Overview

Another great choice for mobile bettors, LeoVegas is the leader in creating a personalized mobile betting experience. Users who like to have all their favourite bets in one place are a good fit for this sports betting app, as well as users who like features, like trending combos, and live betting.

LeoVegas lets itself down with its own app when it comes to not having a built-in online casino with the sports betting app. Having to download multiple apps for one full product is a bit of a drag considering the amount of space they take up. We also had to comment on the less than impressive customer service.

Overall, however, another great sport betting app that we encourage Ontario residents to give a try. Check out our full LeoVegas app review if you'd like to learn even more.

List of Good Ontario Sports Betting Apps

You’ve seen the best, and maybe they didn’t quite do it for you. We get that. The next list to appear in the article are the betting apps in Ontario that are very good, but didn’t quite cut the list of “the best”.

These betting apps are certainly worth trying, especially since most of them have some really nifty perks and features.

The list of good betting apps worth trying in Ontario includes DraftKings Sportsbook App, Pointsbet’s app, and BetRivers’ app.

    6. DraftKings Sportsbook App

    DraftKings App Test Results

Listed below is how DraftKings’ sportsbook app performed against the tests we conducted:

    • Odds - Decent odds but not the best 7/10
    • Features - Parlays, DFS & more: 7/10
    • User experience -Great experience, loads quickly 9/10
    • Betting lines - Leader in spread bets 9/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

DraftKings Sportsbook App 1 Minute review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Leading app for spread bets

✅ Best app for UFC betting

✅ Players have commented positively on the social hub on the app

❌ Players have complained about a lack of withdrawal options

❌ Known to have technical glitches from time to time

    DraftKings Sportsbook App Overview

One of the most anticipated sportsbook apps to enter Ontario, the DraftKings sportsbook app is the perfect destination for bettors with an eye for a spread bet, UFC bet, and for bettors with an interest in the social aspect of betting. Users have also commented very positively on the app’s user interface, and all-around, this is a leading brand within the industry.

The lack of withdrawal options and the presence of some technical glitches bring down the overall score of what could have been a contender for the best betting app in Ontario, but either way, we feel that DraftKings is worth a shot.

    7. Pointsbet App

    Pointsbet App Test Results

You can take a look below at how Pointsbet scored on the tests we carried out:

    • Odds - Highly competitive odds 9/10
    • Features - Points betting, name-a-bet & more: 10/10
    • User experience - Gets good reviews on the app store 8/10
    • Betting lines - Name-a-bet allows you to create your own lines 9/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the Pointsbet app in the image provided. You can find it to the right of this text on desktop, and to the bottom of this text on mobile.

    Pointsbet App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Leading app for features (name-a-bet & points betting)

✅ Highly competitive odds for North American sports

✅ Positive comments on the usability of the app

❌ Known to limit some accounts

❌ Live bets are known to take a bit too long

    Pointsbet App Overview

Pointsbet is a good bookie for bettors who like a book with all the fancy bells and whistles. The features are what make this betting app special, along with its slick interface, and well-priced odds.

We’ve read reports from users that some accounts can be limited after the initial bet, which is disappointing to read about, but we never experienced this for ourselves. We also read reports from users about live bets taking a bit long, which can be frustrating considering the nature of live betting.

Overall, if you like features and odds, go for Pointsbet, but if you’re a live bettor, we’d recommend 888sport instead.

    8. BetVictor App

    BetVictor's App Test Results

You can take a look below at how BetVictor scored on the tests we carried out:

    • Odds - Good for soccer and NBA 8/10
    • Features - Aside from bet builders, not much: 7/10
    • User experience - Outstanding user experience 9/10
    • Betting lines - Wide variety for soccer, but not much else 7/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the BetVictor app in the image provided. You can find it to the right of this text on desktop, and to the bottom of this text on mobile.

    BetVictor App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ App looks great and is a pleasure to use

✅ Bet builders for the NBA

✅ Now accepts payments through Interac

    ❌ Too much UK focus

❌ Doesn't offer Canadian leagues well

    BetVictor App Overview

BetVictor's app is one of the best on the market from a pure user experience perspective. The app is really easy to use, and takes absolutely no time at all to load. BetVictor's app is also great because of the NBA bet builder that's built in. The app also offers a soccer bet builder, and has recently started accepting payments via Interac.

Where this betting app, and BetVictor's entire platform, could improve, is in the fact that it doesn't have much of a Canadian feel. The betting options are labelled with UK terms, (the bet builder isn't called a same game parlay, for example), and there just isn't much evidence that it's an app that's been developed for Canucks. The lack of CFL options is another thing that we thought was an issue.

Overall, if you're not too bothered by a lack of CFL options, or the fact that the app looks like it's been made for Brits, it could be a decent option.

    9. Northstarbets App

Results from our Northstar Bets App Tests

You can take a look below at how BetVictor scored on the tests we carried out:

    • Odds - Marginally lower than on other books 6/10
    • Features - Same game parlays for many sports: 7/10
    • User experience - Leading app for user experience 9/10
    • Betting lines - Wide variety for NHL, MLB and NFL 8/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the Northstar Bets app in the image provided. You can find it to the right of this text on desktop, and to the bottom of this text on mobile.

Northstar Bets App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Lots of options for NFL, NHL, NHL

✅ Dedicated Sports Insights section on the app

✅ Sam game parlays for all major sports

    ❌ Lacks NBA options

❌ Odds aren't as good as some of those on some other betting apps

    Northstar Bets App Overview

Northstar Bets' app is a great mobile betting solution, especially for sports bettors are interested in betting on some of the biggest sports in North America. The app offers a wide range of options for the NHL, NFL and MLB. The app also offers a same game parlay feature for all of the sports just listed here, and also offers a dedicated sports betting insights section, that can help provide tips and information.

This app could improve with the odds that it has on offer, as the odds aren't quite as good as the other bookmakers that can be found further up our list. What's more is that we found it a little surprising that the app doesn't offer the NBA as well as it offers the other North American sports, which is a shame considering how many Canadians enjoy betting on basketball. Overall, as a newbie to the Ontario betting scene, Northstar bets' app is worth a try for sure.

    10. BetRivers App

    BetRivers Test Results:

You can take a look below at how BetRivers performed in our tests:

    • Odds - Bang average, there are better odds elsewhere: 6/10
    • Features - Aside from niche sports streaming, not much: 7/10
    • User experience -A quality app from a usability perspective: 9/10
    • Betting lines - Could do with more betting lines: 6/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the BetRivers app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, or below this text on mobile.

    BetRivers App Review in 1-Minute

    Pros & Cons

    ✅ Smooth betting experience

✅ Offers streaming for more niched sports

✅ Positive comments regarding customer service

    ❌Complaints about withdrawals

❌The app logs you out of the customer support chat

    BetRivers App Overview

BetRivers is a decent betting app for new bettors, who appreciate a seamless betting experience from signing up to placing bets. They offer streaming for more niched sports and have numerous positive comments from users for their responsive customer service department.

We noticed quite a large number of complaints concerning withdrawals. BetRivers needs to see through an annoying verification process for a number of their customers, so if you’re unlucky, you may have to send in a bunch of documents and wait for long periods to get your money.

Another complaint we read about was that while the customer support department was good, you’re easily logged out of the customer support chat, which means you have to restart the process all over again. All things considered, this app has its perks but comes with a couple of frustrating aspects too.

    Average Ontario Sports Betting Apps

That’s it, folks, the best, and the next best apps are the ones that have been listed above. If you’re still here, you may have exhausted the options listed above and might be looking for something else.

The next betting apps to be listed are alright. They get the job done, but they’re not going to leave a lasting impression. They get mediocre scores on the app store and are worth a shot if you’ve tried all the apps listed above, and are fresh out of options.

The average betting apps available in Ontario are Unibet’s app, Fanduel’s sportsbook app, and BetMGM’s app:

    11. Unibet App

    Unibet App Test Results

Below, you can see Unibet’s results from our tests:

    • Odds - Competitive, valuable odds: 8/10
    • Features - No outstanding features available: 5/10
    • User experience - most reports of a below-par betting experience: 4/10
    • Betting lines - a wide range of betting lines: 9/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Unibet App 1 - Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Great range of betting lines

    ✅ Competitive betting odds

    ❌Not the best user experience

    ❌Reports of regular app crashes

    Unibet App Overview

Unibet’s betting app is a little underwhelming considering it’s an app that’s been around for decades. While the app can appeal to classic bettors due to its great range of betting lines, and competitive betting odds, the app is let down by its sub-par user experience and regular crashes.

Overall we recommend other betting apps, but Unibet can be a safe bet for bettors who like a basic sports betting solution.

    BetMGM Test Results:

    • Features - Good parlay betting options, but not much else: 5/10
    • User experience - Good user experience reviews 7/10

    BetMGM App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅ Great parlay options

✅ Allows you to switch on game alerts

    ❌High withdrawal limits

❌You may have issues if/when you travel outside Ontario

    BetMGM App Overview

BetMGM’s app is another that hasn’t quite lived up to the hype after its entry into Ontario. While certainly not the worst app out there, the MGM brand is just so big that users were expecting something a little more than what they got. The BetMGM app is good for live bettors, and their nifty game alerts are a great way to get notified about the bets you may want to place.

The high withdrawal limits and the dodgy location settings that disable you from betting when you’ve left Ontario are significant issues that a number of users have commented negatively on.

    Proline App Overview

OLG's Proline app has recently joined the fold, as it now offers players in app sports betting. Users of this app can enjoy plenty of learning resources, which makes it a sports betting solution that is very well suited to newer players. What's more is that this sports betting app is government run, ensuring a level of safety that no other betting app in Ontario can boast.

Where this app falls short is in the fact that the app offers up no special features like same game parlays, live-streaming, or personalizing bet features. The app also doesn't offer up the best value odds for soccer, which is a bit of an issue considering that soccer betting is on the rise in Canada. With all that said, Proline is a solid option for new players, who are looking to learn how to bet.

Ontario Sports Betting Apps to Avoid

Similar to Sergio Leone’s the good the bad and the ugly, we have the best, the good, the average, and those to avoid. Same same but very different.

The betting apps listed below are ones we feel you should avoid. While they’re licensed and available in Ontario, they simply don’t cut it and aren’t really worth your time.

Regardless, the list of Ontario sports betting apps to avoid includes thescore.bet app, Rivalry’s app, Comeon’s betting app, Party Poker’s sports betting app, and Fallsview Social’s betting app.

    TheScore.bet app 1-minute review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅Live game tracking feature

    ❌Lacks betting lines

❌Complaints of app bugs and users being logged out

    TheScore.bet App Overview

The Score.bet is one of the only betting operators to offer only an app (no desktop site). We expected that since this was the case, the app would be stellar, but it simply isn’t. The live game tracking is nice, but a lack of betting lines, and a buggy app relegates this betting app to the list of betting apps in Ontario to avoid.

    • Odds - Decent odds: 7/10
    • Features - Good features, like create your bet: 7/10
    • User experience - Bugs, and app can log you out 4/10
    • Betting lines - More betting lines could be added: 4/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

    Comeon! App 1 Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

✅ Create your bet feature is good, and cash-out works well

❌ Lots of complaints about app functionality

    ❌ Poor in-play odds

    Comeon! App Overview

Comeon’s app is another forgettable option in Ontario. While their “create-your-bet” feature made a mark on us, that was about all that did.

There are a lot of complaints about the app’s user experience, and we experienced some similar things. There are lots of bugs and the app logs you out, which makes for a less than pleasant betting experience.

    16. Rivalry App

    Rivalry App Test Results

How Rivalry’s app performed against our tests

    • Odds - Odds are much better elsewhere: 5/10

    • Features - No special features to speak of: 4/10

    • User experience - Not the best user experience when we used the app 3/10

    • Betting lines - Betting lines are lacking: 5/10

    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10

    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

    Rivalry App 1-Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅Good selection of esports markets

❌Lacks the range of sports found on other betting apps

    ❌Lacks any memorable features

    Rivalry App Overview:

Rivalry’s app is a decent option for Esports bettors, but to be honest there are better options for esports, that have more to offer (cough, Betway).

The lack of a full sportsbook and the lack of features make this app forgettable, and this is why we’ve put it on the list of betting apps to avoid.

Party Poker Sports App Test Results

How Party Poker's sports App Measured up against our tests

    • Odds - Odds aren’t great: 5/10
    • Features - We didn’t find any special features: 4/10
    • User experience - Poor user experience reviews on the app store: 8/10
    • Betting lines - Can’t compete with the top dogs: 4/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - We had no issues: 10/10

Take a closer look at the Party Poker Sports app by clicking on the accompanying image that appears next to this text on desktop, or below this text on mobile.

Party Poker Sports App 1-Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅Lots of soccer betting options

    ❌Bugs and usability issues

❌You’ll need to download separate apps for casino, poker & sports

    Party Poker Sports App Overview

Party Poker sports. The name says it all. This betting operator is mainly focused on poker and casino, and the sportsbook’s app shortcomings are clear for all to see. While there are a decent number of betting options available, especially for soccer, that was the only positive we could find.

The app has a lot of bugs, you’ll need to download separate apps for their different platforms, and in all honesty, it doesn’t really have any pop or wow factor. We recommend other betting apps.

    18. Fallsview Social App

    Fallsview Social Test Results

Below you'll be able to see how the Fallsview Social app scored on our tests:

    • Odds - Odds are pretty bad: 3/10
    • Features - Very few features available: 3/10
    • User experience - App feels like it’s fresh out of the ‘80s: 2/10
    • Betting lines - Lacks betting lines: 4/10
    • Functionality - iOS & Android: 10/10
    • Security - Reports of users being double billed 1/10

Play Falls View Sports App 1-Minute Review

    Pros & Cons

    ✅ Fast deposits & withdrawals

❌ App has been accused of double billing

❌ Lack of sports on offer

    Fallsview Social App Overview

One of the newer apps to enter the Ontario sports betting market, Fallsview social app falls flat on its face. There are no real selling points to highlight about this app, and with allegations of double billing, and the lacking sports on offer, we recommend staying away. There are far better options out there.

What is the best betting app in Ontario?

In our humble, yet expert opinion, it’s Betway, but Betway is closely chased by Casears Sportsbook app, and Bet365’s app.

The truth is, you won’t go wrong with either of these three, but Betway is our favourite as it’s reliable, easy to use, and has so many sports and betting lines to choose from.

Check out our minute review of Betway’s app here.

How many betting apps are there in Ontario?

As it stands there are 16 sports betting apps in Ontario, with a few more promising to enter soon.

There are a few casino sites too, that don’t offer sports, and four that offer mobile sportsbooks, but no apps.

Are betting apps legal in Ontario?

They are! The safe and regulated sports betting act, passed back in August 2021 means that each of Canada’s provinces can regulate themselves, and Ontario jumped on that opportunity to create a fully regulated sports betting market.

All the apps found on this page are legal in Ontario, but if you want to do your own digging, also look out for the iGaming Ontario logo, which you can find after our list of all Ontario sports betting apps.

Are Ontario betting apps available on Android?

They sure are! All the betting apps that are legal and available in Ontario are downloadable from the Google Play Store. No more having to worry about APKs and changing security settings on your android devices!

How do I download betting apps in Ontario?

The download process is pretty simple, and the steps can be found below:

    1. Visit the sportsbook you’re interested in (with the help of our list)
    2. Create an account with them
    3. Click on the link that takes you to the app store/play store (usually this is found in the header of the screen when you create an account)
    4. Click on “GET” if you’re on the iOS app store or “INSTALL” if you’re on the Google Play Store
    5. Launch the app
    6. Sign in with the details you entered when you created your account
    7. Start betting!

Are Ontario sports betting apps safe?

Aside from the Fallsview social app, yes, all the betting apps in Ontario are safe.

We encourage you to be wary of Fallsview social because they have been accused of double billing some of their accounts.

Other than that one, all betting apps in Ontario are safe and secure, and work hard to keep your information and money safe!

Do all Ontario sportsbooks have apps?

Unfortunately not. As it stands, Royal Panda, Coolbet, Bwin and North Star Bets have all yet to release betting apps as part of what they offer.

Stay tuned though. Betting apps are going to be a huge part of betting in Ontario, so we expect these operators to develop, and launch betting apps sooner rather than later.
