BetMGM is one of 13 betting sites and casinos available in both Ontario and Alberta. While its casino offering is slightly stronger than its sportsbook, BetMGM still provides a well rounded sports betting experience with a good selection of prop markets, live betting features and coverage across a wide range of leagues, including college sports.
Mainstream leagues such as the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL offer the game lines and player props you would expect, although the depth of these markets does trail sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings. However, compared to these betting sites, we did find that the market selection was better all around when it came to soccer and cricket.
BetMGM also has several features that help separate it from other sportsbooks. BetDefense protects parlays when a player is sidelined early in the game due to injuries, while its EPL early payout can settle qualifying bets as winners when a team takes a two goal lead.
For sports bettors who value extra protection on their wagers, BetMGM is one of the better sportsbooks to consider. Bettors primarily looking to price hunt for the best odds or find more niche markets may prefer other sites, but BetMGM should still provide a strong overall experience for most users, while also offering one of the better online casinos in Canada.
Where Can I Use BetMGM in Canada?
BetMGM Canada is only available in Ontario and Alberta, having approval from both iGaming Ontario and the AiGC.

BetMGM 1st Quareter Injury Protection Feature
BetMGM offers 1st quarter injury protection on eligible pro football player prop bets. If your player leaves the game due to injury in the first quarter, and is officially ruled out for the remainder of the game, BetDefense steps in.
The great thing about this feature, is it only applies to player props that are conditioned upon positive performance. Meaning, on over/under markets where you've selected the under, the prop is still settled as winning wagers.
BetMGM Early Payout
BetMGM 2-Up EPL Early Payout Feature
BetMGM Early Payout lets English Premier League bettors settle their game line wagers early when their team take a 2-goal lead. No matter the final result, as soon as the team meets these conditions your bet will be automatically settled as a win.
This feature is only available on pre-game match result markets, excluding "tie" markets. This feature will also work with parlays, marking the legs as successful, but will only payout early if all other legs have already been settled as a win.
