I think free bets are the kings of betting site offers. What better way to stake on the big Six Nations matches than doing so without having to put more of your own money up?
Free bets are regularly available as part of sign up bonuses or as existing customer promotions.
You often see them linked to a particular match or player, but they can also be used on outright markets.
I think we’re likely to see existing customer free bet offers before and during the Six Nations which are unlocked by placing a bet of a certain amount on a specific market. For example:
Bet £5 on the Six Nations outright winner market and get a £5 free bet builder to use on the England vs. Scotland Match.
Another type of free bet that I reckon will be available for the Six Nations is a money back offer. With these types of offers, you’ll get your money back as a free bet if you place a specific bet that doesn’t win. For example:
Get your money back as a free bet up to £10 if you bet on any team to win in Six Nations match odds or handicap betting markets and the match is drawn.
In my experience, this sort of money back offer is usually reserved for new customers but it’s not unheard of for the best rugby betting sites to extend the good stuff to existing customers around big events like the Six Nations.
Enhanced odds, price boosts, odds boosts, kwiffed odds - they’re all essentially the same thing: The bookie is offering you better-than-usual odds on a specific selection.
These offers are typically available for big events (like, say… the Six Nations!) and are a good way for punters to snag great value bets.
I’ve seen enhanced odds offered on all sorts of markets, including team bets, event bets, player props, and. Here are some examples of enhanced odds betting offers you might see during the 2023 Six Nations:
- Get 10/1 on England to win the Six Nations (was 7/1)
- Get 20/1 on Wales to lead by 9+ points at half time vs Ireland (was 9/1)
Like pretty much all betting offers, the absolute best enhanced odds opportunities will be for new customers, however, promos like the examples above are regularly offered to existing customers, too.
One thing to look out for on enhanced odds offers is the maximum stake and the nature of the returns:
- Some offers limit punters to a maximum stake of just £1
- Some offers will pay out winners in cash up to the value of the original odds, with the enhanced winnings paid out as free bets.
Best odds guaranteed
Best odds guaranteed is an offer that most punters would probably associate with horse racing - that's certainly the sport where it's most visible.
However, just like your favourite high street supermarkets, some bookies don't like to be beaten on price.
That means that, while I think you will mostly find the best odds for Six Nations betting at bet365, there will be certain markets where bookies ensure that the price they offer is at least as good - or better - than you can get anywhere else.
William Hill is a good example: It regularly displays featured markets across football and other top events with a Top Price Guarantee in the carousel at the top of its home page.
Acca insurance is probably my favourite of all betting offers likely to be available during the Six Nations.
If you’ve ever had a big acca let down at the last moment by a single leg, I’m sure you’ll agree.
The key things to look out for if you want to sign up to a bookmaker to take advantage of an acca insurance offer during the Six Nations include:
- The sports on which acca insurance is available (sometimes this is limited to just football)
- Minimum odds requirements (per leg and overall/combined)
- The minimum number of legs required for an acca to qualify for the insurance offer.
The third point above is pretty important as far as the Six Nations is concerned seeing as there are only three games in each round.
For the Six Nations, then, it might be better to look for acca insurance offers that also cover bet builders (also known as same-game multiples), so you have more markets available.
Paddy Power’s acca insurance offer covers bet builders and only excludes enhanced match odds and horse racing bets (so Six Nations multiples will qualify for the offer!).
Free to play games
Free-to-play games are, in my opinion, the best existing customer promotions you can get at UK betting sites.
Others are more general and give punters opportunities to win free bets or other rewards that can be used on a much wider range of markets. Examples include:
- Paddy Power Beat the Drop
- Ladbrokes Winner, Winner, Daily Spinner
- William Hill Scratch of the Day
- Betway Prize Wheel
If you’re already signed up to Ladbrokes, William Hill, or Betway, then there’s no reason not to play these free-to-play games. You can usually play up to once per day and I've won prizes including free bets, unique odds boosts and cash bonuses in the past.
These more general free-to-play games will be available as usual during the Six Nations, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see some tournament-specific games appear in the build up to the tournament.
Don’t see the Six Nations market you want to bet on? Don’t worry, most of the top UK betting sites for rugby have some type of custom bet request or creation function.
There are two ways that these types of custom bets work:
- Combine single selections to create a custom bet using the bookie’s website or app, which the traders will then price up for you.
- Send your bet request to the bookie on social media using the correct hashtag
Below are request a bet social media hashtags for some of the most popular Six Nations betting sites:
- Betway - #BetYourWay
- Betfred - #PickYourPunt

- BetVictor - #PriceItUp
- William Hill - #YourOdds
- Ladbrokes - #GetAPrice
