Not yet, Betway has still not appeared on the list of approved sites by the AiGC. Betway has completed registration with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), the provincial regulator responsible for iGaming oversight and compliance. To operate in the province’s regulated market, Betway also needs to operate pursuant to an agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation.

This means Albertans still need to wait a while longer. The rollout of approved sites is still ongoing, and Betway is expected to become available in the coming days or weeks.

In Canada, Betway is part of the regulated Ontario iGaming market. The sportsbook is also accessible in other provinces through a separate domain, operating outside a province-specific regulated market.

As stated previously, in Alberta, Betway has completed registration with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) but is still waiting to form an agreement with the AiGC.

In Ontario, Betway is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and operates under an agreement with iGaming Ontario, which commercially manages private iGaming operators in the province. Eligible iGames conducted and managed by iGO are only available to those physically present in the Province of Ontario.

In all other provinces, Betway is still able to accept Canadian players through the country’s current iGaming grey market. These provinces have not yet introduced open, privately regulated iGaming markets comparable to Ontario or Alberta, meaning the only provincially regulated online betting options are typically government-run platforms.

These platforms are usually operated through provincial lottery corporations and often combine casino games, sports betting, and lottery products in one place.

While private betting sites such as Betway are not officially regulated or endorsed by these provincial governments, Canadian players in these provinces can still sign up and use them through separate domains.
