Euro 2024 Golden Boot Odds: Kylian or Kane?

26 March 2024

We've gone through the top contenders to win the Golden Boot at Euro 2024.

In this article, we assess the favourites to finish top scorer at this summer's European Championships with some familiar names in the running:

Euro 2024 Golden Boot Odds

Who will win the Golden Boot?

Kylian Mbappe - 9/2

Mbappe’s eight goals - including a hattrick in the final - wasn’t enough for France to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

But the French skipper and talisman did pick up the Golden Boot award for his goalscoring exploits with the PSG striker pipping Lionel Messi to the prize.

Although England are the favourites to win Euro 2024, France remain the team to beat and Mbappe is expected to lead the scoring charts again as Les Bleus chase a first Euros title since 2000.

Harry Kane - 5/1

With three Premier League Golden Boots and a World Cup Golden Boot to his name, England’s skipper is no stranger to winning top scorer awards.

Kane has enjoyed a stunning debut season in the Bundesliga and has adjusted seamlessly to life in Germany setting all kinds of scoring records for Bayern Munich.

If England are to live up to their hype as tournament favourites, the goals from their number nine will be crucial to their success.

Cristiano Ronaldo - 14/1

The then 36-year-old finished as the top scorer at Euro 2020 with five goals (shared with Patrick Schick of the Czech Republic) despite his Portugal team exiting the tournament in the Round of 16.

Three years on, it’s fair to say the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is no longer at the peak of his powers playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

However, with Euro 2024 likely to be his final international tournament, CR7 will be determined to bow out on a high, maybe even leading Portugal to a second European Championships title in three tournaments.

Also in the mix...

Jude Bellingham (16/1) has become a goalscoring machine since moving to Real Madrid - he’s already equalled the number of goals David Beckham scored in his four years at the Bernabeu in six months! The 20-year-old has the world at his feet and is expected to play a significant role for the Three Lions in Germany.

Romelu Lukaku (21/1) scored 14 goals in Euro 2024 qualifying, setting a new record as Belgium qualified for this summer’s tournament with ease. The Roma forward is Belgium’s record goalscorer and has recently surpassed Robert Lewandowski and Neymar in the all-time men’s international goalscorer list.

France’s record goalscorer Olivier Giroud (21/1) is expected to lead the line for Deschamp’s team in Germany, with the retired Karim Benzema now out of the frame and Marcus Thuram still yet to convince on the international stage. With Mpabbe and Antoine Griezman providing the ammunition, Giroud’s price may well prove a popular one.
