Alberta's online casino market continues to expand following its launch in July 2026, with new casinos, sportsbooks and poker platforms preparing to enter the province.

GGPoker looks set to be one of the next major additions, having secured its registration with Alberta's gambling regulator in August.

The poker platform could bring another major brand to Alberta, although an official launch date has yet to be confirmed.

GGPoker Alberta Coming Soon

GGPoker has completed one of the mains steps toward launching in Alberta after receiving its registration from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) on August 12, 2026.

The platform, registered under GG International Limited, is already active in Ontario and is widely recognized for its online poker tournaments and cash games.

GGPoker previously operated in Alberta through its international platform but stopped accepting players when the province's regulated iGaming market launched on July 13, 2026.

Although GGPoker has now completed its AGLC registration, it must still enter into a commercial agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) before officially launching.

For Alberta poker players, GGPoker's return could be a welcome addition, particularly given its international reputation and extensive selection of poker games.

No official Alberta launch date has been announced, but its registration suggests the platform is working toward entering the province in the near future.
