Will Carlos Alcaraz Return For The US Open?

Carlos Alcaraz is expected to return for the US Open after suffering a wrist injury at the Barcelona Open earlier this year.

The injury forced Alcaraz to miss several major tournaments, including the French Open and Wimbledon. However, his recovery is reportedly progressing toward a potential return during the North American hard-court season.

Alcaraz’s team expects him to compete at the Cincinnati Open, where his performance and fitness will be assessed before the US Open begins in late August. Should he experience further discomfort or appear unable to compete at his usual level, his participation in the final Grand Slam of the year could remain uncertain.

Jannik Sinner Favourited To Win

Following his victory at Wimbledon, tennis fans are expecting another standout performance from Jannik Sinner.

Sinner reached the final of last year’s US Open but ultimately lost to Carlos Alcaraz in four sets. This year, however, he appears to be an even stronger contender, entering the tournament after his Wimbledon win, as well as success across five ATP Masters events.

Questions also surround defending champion Alcaraz, who is recovering from a wrist injury that could affect his performance at the tournament.

Alcaraz is currently expected to compete at this year’s US Open. However, if his team determines that his form at the Cincinnati Open is not where it needs to be, the star player could withdraw from the event.

Several other high-profile players are also expected to challenge for the title. Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz have both seen movement in the outright betting market, suggesting growing confidence in their chances of winning the US Open.
