Betfair is a proper quality online betting site. It's a go-to for many UK punters largely because of the options available when you've got a sportsbook and an exchange all under one roof (not to mention the plentiful live streaming, great cash out function plus regular promos and offers). Betfair was one of the first accounts I opened as a beginner and it's still the main account I use for my betting now that I'm at a more advanced level.

Top 10 football cash out sites

Bet365 🥇

Screenshot of bet365 app showing football cash out option available MBS

Alongside offering the best value odds, the best selection of asian handicap markets, and one of the widest selections of football matches to bet on, cash out is yet another feature that bet365 does better than the rest.

The regular cash out function can be used on a great range of pre-match and in-play markets, including accas and other multiples across footy, racing and tennis.

What we think really sets bet365’s cash out functionality apart from the rest, though, is the ease with which you can use partial and auto cashout - and even partial auto cash out!! That flexibility is so sweet.

You can also use cash out and partial cash out on football free bets at bet365.

When you have a wager that can be cashed out, just click on the cog to the right of the cash out button. Two tabs appear:

  • On the Partial Cash Out tab, you can move the slider to choose how much to cash out;

  • On the Auto Cash Out tab, just type in the value at which you want to automatically take part or all of your money off the table.

Spreadex 🥈

Screenshot of Spreadex app showing football cash out option available MBS

Spreadex’s unique value proposition as is its spread betting platform. In our opinion, nobody does it better than them and one of the reasons for that is the flexibility of the cash out function.

You can take advantage of full, partial and auto cash out on selected in-play spread bets and partial cash out is also available for fixed odds sportsbook bets - including football accas and other multiples.

We’re also big fans of the option to turn on one-click cash out in your account settings - it just makes life so much easier when you’re looking to exit a market in a hurry.

Spreadex doesn’t look as pretty as bet365, but it’s pretty user-friendly once you know what you’re doing.

Betfair 🥉

Screenshot of Betfair exchange app showing football cash out option

The market leading betting exchange is Betfair’s calling card and heaps of potential confusion is removed from your football trading activity with its intuitive cash out functions.

Betfair’s football cash out features are also available on the sportsbook for fixed odds punters:

Our favourite thing about cash out on the Betfair sportsbook is that cash outs are never suspended on football match odds markets!

That's pretty unique among UK football betting sites.

That means you’ll never have your match odds cashout opportunity ruined by the market suspending for a big chance, goal, or other major match event.

One issue with cash out on the exchange is that it will be hard to get a reasonable cash out offer if there is low liquidity in that market.

William Hill

Screenshot of william hill app showing open football bet available for cash out

William Hill is a classic high-street brand with a top-tier online sportsbook that offers great football cash out functionality.

The standout football cash out feature at William Hill is the ability to cash out in-shop bets via William Hill PLUS.

Just log in to the William Hill PLUS app, navigate to the open bet that you want to cash out, and press the blue ‘cash out’ button.

Once complete, you’ll be able to grab your cash winnings from any William Hill high street shop or withdraw to your online account.

You can, of course, also use the cash out functionality on your online football bets via the main William Hill site and app.

Parimatch

Screenshot of parimatch app with football cash out available

Cash out opportunities are available on no fewer than 35 markets across eight different sports at Parimatch.

11 different football betting markets are on that list, including Asian handicap and goal lines, four different correct score variations and match betting markets over 90 mins, 1st half, and 2nd half.

One really nice feature at Parimatch is the ‘Bank My Stake’ option - take advantage of this to partially cash out your bet and lock in a return that exactly matches your initial stake. The rest of your bet will stay live.

You can also cash out bets placed with promo cash at Parimatch, provided the offer exceeds the total stake (which will be deducted from your returns).

Parimatch is fast becoming one of the best betting sites for UK punters and says that they plan to roll out cash out across additional markets in the future if the customer demand is there, so watch this space for updates.

Ladbrokes

Screenshot of ladbrokes app showing football markets with cash out available

Ladbrokes has one of the widest selection of football markets available for cash out - more than 30 different football bets can be cashed out before the match ends.

However, I think it's a bit of a shame that any bet placed that qualifies or contributes to any other betting offer (including enhanced price specials) are not eligible for cash out.

On the plus side, though, punters who have a Ladbrokes Grid card can also go online to cash out bets placed in-store - just input the receipt number and follow the instructions to bag your early payout.

If you get bored of betting on football, it’s good to know that cash out is available on markets across nine other sports, too, including darts, cricket, boxing, and uh… handball.

BetVictor

Screenshot of betvictor app showing football markets with cash out available

You can whack up to 20 selections in your football acca and it’ll still qualify for cash out at BetVictor (provided each leg is a bet on a market where cash out is available).

You’ll still be able to cash out an acca even if it includes legs that are void or cancelled - your offer will simply be adjusted according to the legs that remain live.

As with Parimatch, you’re able to cash out bets placed with bonus cash at BetVictor provided that the cash out offer exceeds the total amount staked (as the stake will be deducted from any winnings).

Bank My Stake is also available at BetVictor. Freerolling!

Coral

Screenshot of Coral app showing football markets on which cash out is available

Coral offers punters the opportunity to cash out on more than 20 different football markets, including single or multiple stakes on a long list of outright markets.

You can take advantage of partial cash out as many times as you like on a single football bet at Coral. The only stipulation is that your remaining stake or cash out offer has to be at least 10p.

Cash out is available on football wagers placed with free bets, but you can’t use partial cash out on these.

As if all of this wasn’t good enough already, we haven’t even mentioned Coral Connected yet: Punters who are signed up to Connect can cash out shop bets online.

I'm a fan of Coral in general for football betting - I use it in particular for wagering on football booking points markets.

talkSPORT Bet

Screenshot of talksport bet app showing football markets with cash out available

talkSport Bet is a relative newcomer on the football betting scene and it pretty much offers the same as Parimatch and BetVictor (it runs on the same platform, after all).

Bank My Stake is one of the standout cash out features at talkSPORT Bet. It works just the same as at Parimatch and BetVictor - select this option to lock in a partial cash out equal to your initial stake. A painless way to take all risk off the table.

For me, talkSPORT loses points versus some of the competition because you can't use cash out on free bets but, overall, its cash out functionality is still decent for football punters.

It’s also a tiny bit annoying that you need to contact the support email address if you want a list of the types of bets covered or excluded from cash out.

Betway

Screenshot of betway football markets with cash out available

Pregame and in-play football bets can be cashed out for profit (or losses…) at Betway.

The functionality is available across a range of different markets including multiples, but bets including an each-way selection (like tournament outrights/top goalscorer) cannot be cashed out.

As far as ease of use goes, I love a well-implemented slider bar for partial cash out and I’m pleased to report that Betway’s is as smooth as butter.

Betway’s cash out terms and conditions page says that ‘Cash Out is a real-time bet settlement feature which is offered exclusively by Betway’. Uhh, not sure that is the case! Time for a little website refresh I think.

Football cash out sites: What you need to know

The best football cash out sites have partial cash out and auto cash out. They also allow qualifying free bets to be partially or fully cashed out. Sweet.

The other main differentiator is the range of different football markets you can use cash out on.

What types of football cash out options are there?

Full cash out, partial cash out, and auto cash out are the three main football cash out options.

Full cash out

This is the simplest football cash out option.

When you have bet on a football market that supports cash out, just take a look at your bet slip to see whether there’s a cash out offer available to take.

If you’re happy with the amount being offered, go ahead and confirm the cash out. That’s it.

The cash out amount will usually be credited to your betting account immediately - you don’t need to wait for the event to finish.

Partial cash out

Partial cash out gives football punters to cash in part of the live value of their bet, and leave the rest to ride until the match finishes.

Some sites give users a slider which they can move up or down to select how much of a bet they want to cash out; others provide punters with the option to specify the value of the cash out and then work out how much of the bet should be cashed out from there.

Auto cash out

With auto cash out, you can set a rule which triggers a cash out once a certain threshold has been reached.

For example, you can tell the bookie that you want to cash out your bet as soon the cash out value reaches a certain level.

It’s hands-free and stress-free. Makes you feel like the Wolf of Wall Street or something.

Bet365 even combines partial and auto cash out on singles and accas to give punters the option to cash in part of their bet once specified conditions are met.

Which football markets can I cash out on?

Pretty much all UK cash out football betting sites offer the functionality on all the main markets that go in play. This includes:

  • Match result
  • Correct score
  • Half time/full time
  • Both teams to score
  • Double chance

First- and second-half only variations of all the above are also generally available. Beyond these core markets, there is quite a bit of variation on the football markets available for cash out across different bookies.

For example, Coral offers cash out on a wide range of outright markets (such as league or tournament winner) and Parimatch doesn’t.

However, Parimatch offers cash out on Asian Handicap lines and Asian Goal Lines, which aren’t even on offer at Coral, let alone available for cash out.

Some football bookmakers have a list of all markets on which cash out offers can be claimed. If they don’t, your best bet is to get in contact with the bookie via live chat or email support and ask for more info.

Explore our comprehensive list of sites for betting on football.

When should you cash out a football bet?

It’s totally up to you when you should cash out a football bet.

Cash out offers are based on the size of your stake, the odds at which that stake was placed, and the likelihood of that outcome occurring.

Simply put: If you think that the value being offered by the bookie is good, then you should consider taking it.

There are some circumstances where it seems pretty pointless to take a cash out offer, though. That’s because bookmakers often bake an additional margin into the cash out offer.

For example, if you’ve backed Man City to win against Accrington Stanley and they’re 5-0 up after 70 minutes, your cash out offer is still going to be slightly less than your payout would be if you let the bet run for the full 90 minutes.

Why is football cash out sometimes unavailable?

Sometimes, you’re unable to cash out a football bet because the market is suspended at that time.

Cash out may also be unavailable because you placed the wager using a free bet, you placed the bet taking advantage of another offer or promotion, or because cash out is not supported on the market you bet on.

Market suspension

When betting markets go in-play, the prices offered are constantly updated based on the state of the match and how much time is left to play.

Certain events can drastically change the probability of an outcome occurring. The most obvious examples are goals or red cards, but I’m also talking about dangerous free kicks, VAR checks, or even a major counter attack.

In order to make sure they aren’t caught out offering a price that is out of kilter with the match circumstances, bookies will temporarily suspend markets until these major events are complete and the traders have had a chance to adjust prices accordingly.

When markets are suspended, you typically won’t be able to cash out your bet.

Free bets

Cash out is not always available on bets that you have placed using a promotional free bet/token/credit/whatever you want to call it.

There are, however, some sites that do let you cash out these types of wagers including bet365 and Coral.

Offers and promos

You may not be able to cash out your bet if you’ve taken advantage of another offer or promotion when placing the bet.

For example, Ladbrokes says that cash out is not available on any enhanced price specials.

Bet types

Cash out is not available on all football betting markets. Any bookie offering cash out will offer it on match odds, correct score, and all the other main markets, but there’s no real consistency between them beyond that.

If you want to use cash out, make sure you check the terms and conditions for cash out and for your specific market before you place your bet.
