888Sport Alberta - New Sportsbook Launch Approved by AiGC

888Sport becomes one of the latest betting sites to officially launch in Alberta.

The sportsbook went live on October 13, 2026, exactly three months after the province opened its market to private betting sites and online casinos.

888Sport joins a growing list of available sportsbooks in Alberta, while other platforms of 888 have also introduced online casino and poker services to the province.

888Sport officially entered Alberta on October 13, 2026, after completing the required registration with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and securing an agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC).

The platform is registered under VHL Ontario Limited, the same operator responsible for 888Casino and 888Poker in Alberta and Ontario.

888 was already familiar to some Albertans, having accepted players through its international site before the province's regulated market opened on July 13.

The October 13 launch coincided with the end of Alberta's three-month transition period, which allowed existing operators additional time to move into the new regulatory framework.

With its approvals secured, 888Sport is now officially authorized to operate in Alberta, providing another locally regulated option for sports bettors.

Alongside its sportsbook, 888 has introduced its online casino and poker platforms to Alberta's regulated market.

888Casino offers slots, table games, and live dealer titles, while 888Poker becomes the first operator to launch regulated online poker in Alberta.

The poker platform offers Texas Hold'em and Omaha cash games, alongside scheduled tournaments, although users currently compete in a separate Alberta-only player pool rather than against international or Ontario players.

This makes 888 one of the few operators in Alberta offering all three online gambling services under the same brand, giving players access to sports betting, casino games, and poker within the same account.
