Hard Rock Bet registration in Ontario approved - What those in Ontario can expect

Hard Rock Bet has cleared the first step towards launching in Ontario, but players in the province may still need to wait before the sportsbook and casino go live. With registration now approved by the AGCO, Hard Rock Bet is in the process of finalizing an agreement with iGaming Ontario. Once available, bettors can expect a strong new entry to the current list of 34 betting sites in Ontario.

When Will Hard Rock Bet Become Available?

Although Hard Rock Bet has had its registration approved from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), it must still acquire a gaming license through iGaming Ontario.

iGaming Ontario is a separate agency which requires new operators to complete 7 steps before an operator agreement can be finalized. It's unclear whether Hard Rock has begun these step, which step they are currently on, or if they've already completed them.

Based off the timeframe given by iGaming Ontario, these steps can be completed within 3 months, but can sometimes take longer depending on circumstances. This puts the expected timeframe around August at the earliest.

However, once the operator agreement is finalized, it will be up to Hard Rock Bet to determine when the platform is ready to launch.

What Does Hard Rock Bet Offer?

Hard Rock Bet is both a casino and a sportsbook integrated within one platform, which also comes with a well rated mobile app.

On the casino end, bettors can expect to find a solid selection of table games, card and dice games, and live casino games. In the United States, Hard Rock's casino library features over 3,500 games to choose from. Whether those will also be available in Ontario is up in the air, but can give future users an idea of what to expect.

On the sports betting side, Hard Rock Bet mainly focuses on popular North American sports leagues like the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB. Pre-match markets for these leagues carry all the expected betting markets like game lines, props, combos, and quarter/half lines, with some deeper markets for certain sports. The main shortcomings are mostly with its in-play markets, which are generally more limited than sites like FanDuel.

Although nothing is official yet, here are some features and payment methods users can expect to find on Hard Rock Bet based on their offerings in the United States.

What we can expect from Hard Rock Bet's Sportsbook:

  • Live Betting
  • Live Streaming
  • Same-Game Parlays
  • Bet Builder
  • Cash Out Feature

Which payment methods can we expect:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • PayPal
  • ApplePay
  • Interac
  • Wire Transfer
