What is Goal Builder+?
Goal Builder+, which launched at the start of 2026, allows punters to predict how and when the first goal is scored in the week’s selected Premier League match, with a share of the weekly jackpot or free bets up for grabs should you win.
There are five elements of the game’s first goal you must guess correctly before kick off, including:
- First Goalscorer - Player to score first goal (own goals & pens don’t count)
- Goal Method - The body part used to score (Left leg, right leg, head, or other)
- Pitch Section - Area of the goal the ball will cross the line -
- Goal Area - Area of the pitch from which the goal will be scored
- Minute of Goal - The minute of the match when the first goal is scored
If nobody wins the €10k jackpot, the prize rolls over to the next week!
How does Betfred Goal Builder+ work?
You need to successfully predict five details of the first goal scored in Betfred’s selected Premier League match, namely who scores plus how, where and when they score the goal.
As with any predictor game, a full pot of correct picks is needed to win the main prize, with free bets awarded for those who manage 2-4 picks:
- 5 Correct - The Week's Jackpot Prize (usually €10k, but can increase)
- 4 Correct - €10 Free Bet
- 3 Correct - €5 Free Bet
- 2 Correct - €1 Free Bet
Usually, the weekly jackpot is €10k, which you can win a share of depending on the number of winners.
However, should there be no winners, the generous folk at Betfred guarantee to roll over the money pot the following week.
As you can see, when we played Goal Builder+ for the Arsenal vs Manchester United match, the jackpot prize had rolled over to €40k for that week!!
How to Play Betfred Goal Builder+ ?
Once you’ve located Goal Builder+ via the Promotions tab, click ‘Play Here’ to be taken to the week’s selected Premier League match and the one you will be trying to make predictions for.
Then click ‘Play for Free’ to start making your choices.
Who strikes first? Scroll between the players on both teams and click on the player you think will score the game's first goal (excluding penalties and own goals). You can filter your pick by team and player position. The number of goals scored and the player's injury status are included to help with your choice!
How will your player find the back of the net? Now you've selected your player, how will they score? Left foot, right foot or with their head? Depending on your player, this pick may be the easiest!
Where will the first goal be scored from? Here, you have eight different sections of the pitch to select from, with the penalty area divided into seven individual zones and outside the penalty area counting as one zone. Just click on the area/number you reckon your player may score from.
What area of the goal will they hit? Will it be top bins or drilled into the bottom corner? Click (or tap) the section of the goal you think will bulge when your selected player scores! There are six areas to choose from.
When will the breakthrough come? Choose the exact minute the goal will be scored. Use the arrows to settle on the minute of the match you're going for. This is the last prediction you need to make, so once you're happy with all your picks, press 'Submit Predictions'.
Time to sit back and wait until kick off! The game runs up until the scheduled kick-off time, so it's possible to go back and edit your selections if you wish!
At each stage, you can also opt for 'Surprise Me?' Doing so results in the pick being randomly made for you.
What are the rules of Goal Builder+?
Prizes
- For five correct predictions based on the first goal scored, you will win a share of the cash prize for the given game week.
- If you get between two and four predictions right, you will receive free bets (4 - €10 Free Bet, 3 - €5 Free Bet, 2 - €1 Free Bet.
- Cash prize winners will receive a pop-up when they next log in to their account
- Free bets and cash prizes will be credited within 48 hours of the match taking place.
Free Bets
- Free bets can be used on any sports/lotto or virtual markets
- The free bet amount cannot be withdrawn as cash
- Nor will it form part of any winnings paid to you

General
- You can only enter each round once.
- You can win only one prize per gameweek
- The first goal must be scored within normal match time (90 mins)
- If the match is postponed or cancelled, the Goal Builder + game will be void for that week with no prizes available.
