One of Canada's most recognizable online casino and sports betting brands is preparing to be added to Ontario's long list of sportsbooks and online casinos available in the province.
Stake has confirmed its plans to launch in Ontario in 2026, with its Canadian website currently displaying a "Coming Soon" message for players in the province.
The betting site has already made progress with its Canadian expansion, securing approval in Alberta earlier this October. However, its Ontario launch remains dependent on approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Stake Ontario Coming Soon
Stake is working toward launching its sportsbook and online casino in Ontario, with an application currently under review by the province's gambling regulator, the AGCO.
The platform will be operated by Stake Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of Australian companies Stake Gaming and Easygo Group, which was established to support the brand's expansion into regulated Canadian markets.
Stake had initially planned to enter Ontario using a third-party betting platform but later decided to develop its own technology, delaying the approval process.
In a September interview, Stake Canada General Manager Kris Abbott explained that the development and certification process took longer than anticipated, but was completed earlier in 2026.
Abbott also confirmed that the company believes it has submitted everything required for its Ontario application and is now awaiting a response from the AGCO.
Although Stake continues to advertise a 2026 launch, no official date has been announced, and the operator must still secure AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario before accepting players.
While Stake continues to await approval in Ontario, the company has made considerable progress in Alberta, where it secured its AGLC registration on September 24, followed by licensing approval on October 6.
For now, Ontario bettors will have to wait for further news from Stake or the AGCO before an official launch date can be confirmed.
