FICA with Betting Sites

The Financial Intelligence Centre Act was later superseded in 2017 by the Financial Intelligence Centre Amended Act, which brought about some slight changes including the ramping up of efforts, such as

• further due diligence,
• revision of penalties,
• extension of the FIC’s (Financial Intelligence Centre) objectives.

The amendment had no impact on punters and the process they need to complete in order to FICA with betting sites; the process remains unchanged.

Running in a different, more personalised vein, you as the user need to FICA with a betting site in order to withdraw with them.

You can sign up, deposit, bet and win, but will have no way of actually accessing those winnings until you have verified your identity by uploading your FICA documents with your selected betting site.

Once you have successfully signed up with Betway, a window will pop up that will give you the option to upload your fica documents with them. Betway only requires their users to upload a clear copy or photograph of their ID to complete this process with them.

This pop up will appear whether your identity has been verified or not, so if you have received confirmation that your identity has been automatically verified you can ignore this.

1. If you click on upload now, you will be taken to their self service portal, where you will be able to submit your fica documents.
2. Click on the “choose file” button that appears alongside where it says “Proof of ID”.
3. Select the relevant file from your computer
4. Click submit file

Note: Betway may take up to 48 hours to verify your documents. This is subject to change around peak hours, as well as over weekends. You will receive an email notification once your documents have been verified.

In order to FICA with Gbets, simply:

1. Log in to your Gbets Account
2. Click on the My Profile Button
3. Click “Account Not Verified”
4. Click on the space provided
5. Upload your documents and click on Verify

Submitting your FICA documents with Sunbet can be done via two different methods.

Option 1: Email your FICA documents to fica@sunbet.co.za

Option 2: Uploading your documents via Sunbet’s online FICA portal

To access this portal, sign into you Sunbet account, navigate to click on “My Account”

1. Click on “My Profile”
2. Click on “FICA Documentation”
3. Click on “Upload Passport/ID”
4. Select the relevant file from your computer, and double click or click enter. The file name should reflect in the field provided on Sunbet’s website.
5. Click on “Upload proof of address”
6. Select the relevant file from your computer, and double click or click enter. The file name should reflect in the field provided on Sunbet’s website.
7. Once all of this has been done, click “Submit”.

Note: Verification of documents takes up to 48 hours with Sunbet, Once your documents have been verified, you will be notified with an email that will be sent to the email address that you registered your account with.

You have three options to FICA with Supabets. You may either:

Email your FICA documents to fica@supabets.co.za

Whatsapp your documents, as well as your Supabets username to 071 550 4018

OR

Upload your documents through their self service portal

1. Sign into your Supabets account
2. Navigate to and click on “Upload FICA” (found on the right side of their homepage)
3. Enter your contact number in the field provided
4. Click on “Upload Documents”
5. Select the relevant files from your computer
6. Click on the box confirming that each of the documents you have uploaded are exact copies of the originals
7. Click on "Submit"

Submitting your FICA documents can be done via 5 different methods:

Option 1: FICA self service

1. Log into your Hollywoodbets account
2. Click on “Upload FICA”
3. Enter your details in the spaces provided and upload the relevant documents from your PC
4. Click on “Submit”

Option 2: Email

Email your relevant, clearly visible FICA documents to fica@hollywoodbets.net

Option 3: Facebook Private Message

1. Search for Hollywoodbets on Facebook
2. Once you’ve found their page, click on message
3. Send pictures of your documents

Option 4: Facebook Messenger

1. Search for Hollywoodbets on Facebook Messenger
2. Select them
3. Send pictures of your documents to their messenger account

Option 5: Drop off

Visit your nearest Hollywoodbets Branch and drop off copies of your fica documents.

You have two options to FICA with World Sports Betting. You can either:

Email your documents to fica@wsb.co.za

Or

1. Sign in to your World Sports Betting Account
2. Click on “My Account”
3. Click on “FICA Submission”
4. Upload your documents by clicking on the “Choose file” buttons found along aside each document type
5. Click on Upload FICA documents

Note: You can expect to have your FICA documents verified in 24 hours. World Sports Betting will let you know once they have completed this process.
