PointsBet Bonus & Promos

For a long time PointsBet was known for offering some of the best welcome promos in the US. However, PointsBet has been acquired by Fanatics Sportsbook, and is in the midst of a major rebranding and transition process to emerge as Fanatics. This shift is a monumental step for both companies, aiming to blend PointsBet's established betting technology with Fanatics' brand recognition and experience witih sports marketing and customer engagement.

However, this transition has led to a temporary halt in PointsBet's customary sign-up bonuses. As PointsBet prepares to relaunch as Fanatics, their focus is on operational integration and product realignment, rather than enticing new users with promotional deals.

While some potential bettors may find the lack of sign-up incentives disappointing, it's worth noting that the pause is temporary, as we expect Fanatics to unveil some creative and competitive promotions once the transition is complete

Promos available on PointsBet

Here is a choice selection of some other promos we've seen on PointsBet:

  • Parlay bonus
  • Crowd boosters
  • Name a Bet
  • Sunday Night 7
  • NBA Live Same Game Parlays
  • Cash out and partial cash out

PointsBet Cash Out

Like many of its competitors, PointsBet offers a cash out option on selected bets. You can access the cash out option through the My Bets section of your account. PointsBet takes it to the next level with a partial cash out option.

If cash out is an option for your bet you can just toggle the slider from MIN to MAX to decide how much of your bet you want to leave in and how much to take out.

What is the difference between cash out and partial cash out?

Partial cash out allows you to cash out a portion or percentage of your bet. Effectively leaving some of your wager still in play and settling on the rest. PointsBet offers both options.

PointsBetting

Let's start off with one of the more obvious selling points here - PointsBetting. PointsBet is the only US book with this feature which is a big plus. But don't get confused, you can still bet on all the "regular" features you would get on any other US betting site such as spreads, moneylines, totals and player props.

It definitely sets PointsBet apart. But how does it work? PointsBetting as a type of bet is more risky than many traditional lines you can place a wager on.

PointsBet Lightning Bets

One of my favorite features is PointsBet's Lightning Betting. Their Lightning Markets offer a fast-paced betting feature that allows you to place live bets happening within the next minute. PointsBet have so far rolled it out for NFL and NBA with success but there is talk it could be extended to more sports in the future. If you're interested in live odds this feature will really let you test your knowledge.

Odds with PointsBet

PointsBet is officially affiliated with the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and PGA Tour. Great! But how does this reflect on the price and quality of odds for major US sports?

Pointsbet odds

PointsBet's odds offering is competitive for sure. I looked at NBA and NHL and soccer just to give an example of the cross section of odds they have on offer and the selection was comparable to many of the big books.

  • Across 8 NBA games there were an incredible 700 possible wagers. The breakdown per game was consistent as well with around 90 wagers for each game.

  • For NHL the number of odds markets was even larger with over 140 lines open for each game. Although cash out was available PointsBet doesn't offer a same game parlay for hockey betting which seems strange.

Parlays with PointsBet

You'll find a lot of reviews wanting to hype up PointsBetting. While this is a unique feature for PointsBet, what really gets me excited are their parlays. They deliver a top class parlay builder that makes it easy to find odds and wide availability of same game parlay options that are only matched by the big books.

Pointsbet parlays

PointsBet Same Game Parlay

PointsBet's Quick Parlay Builder is one of the easiest to use parlay builders you can find in the US right now. Simply click the Quick Parlay option in the menu sidebar and you'll find all the odds available to build a parlay. This saves you the time of finding odds that can be used to build a parlay and will show all available lines and sports in a neat little package.

So far so good. How about range? PointsBet currently offers same game parlay for NBA, NFL, NCAAB and MLB. Because PointsBet is originally a book from Australia you can also get a good offering on AFL and NRL if you're looking for something a little different. This is a nice little touch but for most US players it won't be a concern and doesn't necessarily give them an edge.

Like other bettings sites, if you are on the hunt for same game parlay just hunt for your sport and game and you'll see the SGP red logo if it's available. Those looking for SGP on hockey would do well to try FanDuel Sportsbook or DraftKings Sportsbook.

PointsBet Live Same Game Parlay

PointsBet is one of the few betting sites to offer live same game parlay (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM) which is really what sets it apart as one of the best live betting sites in the US right now. PB boast that you can have up to 20 lines for a live SGP.

PointsBet Quick Parlay Builder

PointsBet's Quick Parlay Builder is one of the easiest to use parlay builders you can find in the US right now. Simply click the Quick Parlay option in the menu sidebar and you'll find all the odds available to build a parlay. This saves you the time of finding odds that can be used to build a parlay and will show all available lines and sports in a neat little package.

VERDICT: Almost my favorite site for parlays. Not only is it easy to find and build a parlay but you have extensive features such as live same game parlays that you don't have on other sites. However, the amount of available lines for SGP isn't as large as the likes of DraftKings or FanDuel which is what I'm most interested in. Still, a must have if you're interested in parlays and especially if live odds are your thing.

PointsBet Payout Speed

Online Banking
  • 1-2 days to process and then another 1-3 days for it to reach your account. (Minimum $5 withdrawal)
PayPal
  • 1-2 days to process and then 30 mins to reach your account - can only use this option if you have deposited
ACH, Echeck
  • 1-2 business days to process and 1-3 days to reach your account (Min amount $5 and no maximum amount)
Pointsbet payout speed

PointsBet's payout options compare favorably with other major books. The easiest and fastest option to use for a fast payout would be PayPal. To be honest, it can fluctuate and while a comparison of BetMGM will say they have slight faster payouts, in reality PointsBet will arguably be just as fast.

The biggest plus for PointsBet when it comes to payouts is their minimum withdrawal amount is better than competitors. DraftKings Sportsbook and BetMGM both have pretty high minimum withdrawal amounts at $20 so PointsBet is definitely more favorable there. This is a similar factor when comparing with FanDuel who have a $10 minimum withdrawal.

Ease of Use

Is PointsBet the best book for live betting?

The fact that PB offers such a wide spread of live betting features might give you a clue to the confidence they have in the quality of their app. The fact that you can place Lightning Bets and live same game parlays means they have to have a fast and functional app. Which they do. Take a quick look at TrustPilot reviews which is a breeding ground for disgruntled bettors and you'll find a much more resounding, positive reflection of PointsBet.

Live streaming and visualizations: Live streaming is currently on offer for table tennis, tennis, European basketball and soccer. If you're looking for US sports it's probably not the leading option for you (for example Caesars streams NFL).

Of the things I love about the PointsBet app (and desktop) is the visualizations. In my experience this is only rivaled by FanDuel. It really heightens the live betting experience.

Pointsbet ease of use

Does the PointsBet app work well?

PointsBet's app stands up well with an easy to follow and clear structure not dissimilar to other betting sites. As I said the app stands up to daily use so there's no problem using PointsBet as your main, go-to betting site.

How easy is it to find odds?

Very. You can even find the depth of markets for each sport and game. PointsBet actually tells you how many active lines there are for each league or sport. This is a nice little touch that most betting sites don't have. Simply click on the sport you're interested in and you'll see how many games and wagers.

How does PointsBet differ from other sportsbooks?

How PointsBet competes:

PointsBet has all the hallmarks of a top sportsbook. They offer a trusted platform for payouts, a great sign up bonus, options for same game parlay, live betting and live streaming.

How PointsBet differs:

  • Their bonus is one of the more interesting on offer in the US right now. Their bonus is currently spread out over five separate bets (one per day) which makes the bonus last longer allows for more variety.
  • They also offer points betting which is a unique concept you won't see with other betting sites. Not without risk, Points betting is a form of higher risk, but higher reward form of spread betting.
Do you think PointsBet is one of the best betting sites?

Absolutely. MyBettingSites rates PointsBet as one of the best sportsbooks in the US right now. We feel they fall short on what they offer for promos but excel in all other arenas like: sign up bonus, betting variety, price of odds and live betting, as well as same game parlay.
