Good question!
Many of our readers have had trouble with account verification on some international betting sites. Also called Know Your Customer (KYC), the process sometimes takes too long and often requires users to upload all sorts of identity documents.
However, this mostly happens with international betting sites that do not have a Kenyan license. The KYC is not necessarily a bad thing.
The KYC is meant to tell the betting site more about the customer. They want to know exactly who you are and where you are betting from. The KYC process protects the user against impersonation and fraud.
If you want to avoid a lengthy process, we advise that you use an international betting sites that is licensed in Kenya.
Usually, account verification on these sites only requires the user to do any of the following:
- Input a code sent to a registered Kenyan phone number,
- Follow an email verification link
- Provide bank details (with a Kenyan bank)
- Enter a valid house address
Once you do any of these (depending on the betting site), your betting account will be safe and ready to use.
