About Us - MyBettingSites Kenya

Launched in 2019, MyBettingSites Kenya has one primary objective - to help Kenyan punters find the best betting sites in the country.

We only recommend legal bookies, licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board - the regulatory body for betting companies in Kenya.

We aim to make the betting experience as enjoyable as possible for Kenyans, which is why all of the betting sites listed on our pages accept MPesa to allow for seamless betting transactions.

The Story of MyBettingSites

2019 was a very tumultuous year for the sports betting industry in Kenya, with the regulatory bodies in the country cracking down on betting operators due to alleged tax offenses.

The drawn out battle led to the exit of some of the biggest betting companies in the country, most notably, SportPesa and Betin, and plenty of uncertainty amongst the betting community. (SportPesa has since returned to Kenya).

With many bettors uncertain about which betting sites were legal and active, MyBettingSites Kenya stepped in to help Kenyans answer all of these queries.

Since then, we have been the most trusted affiliate site in the country, giving users accurate and unbiased reviews of betting operators in Kenya.

MyBettingSites Kenya is part of the global MyBettingSites group, which serves many other geos around the world.

MyBettingSites began with a simple goal: to help users all over the English-speaking world find the right betting site for them. No BS, just honest and thorough evaluations of each betting site so you can find your next sportsbook.

Founded by Leadstar Media, a top sports betting affiliate company based in Stockholm, we set out to create a one-stop shop where we broke down all the factors a user would need to find a new betting site.

When the site launched, it existed in only four countries - the UK, Canada, Kenya, and Nigeria. Soon after, we launched our site for Indian users. Today, we exist in a total of 11 countries.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for the future, as we continue to bring our trusted service to sports betting enthusiasts around the globe.

MBS Kenya's Three Wise Men - The Story of David, Charles and Collins

Like many great partnerships, this great union between David, Collins and Charles started with a shared passion, and a few friendly betting arguments.

Back in 2015, David Mwangi was running a small personal blog where he reviewed Kenyan betting sites and compared football odds. A lifelong football fan and early adopter of online betting, David had begun noticing that most of the information available to Kenyan punters was outdated, unreliable, or written by people outside the country.

Determined to change that, he decided to build something better; a local site written for Kenyan bettors, by Kenyan bettors.

Around that time, Charles Kiprono Ngetich was working full-time at a Nairobi tech firm, leading a product analytics team. Though his day job was all about data and software, his evenings were often spent analysing odds, bonuses, and casino payout rates.

One day, while researching M-Pesa withdrawals on a betting site, he stumbled upon David’s blog. Impressed by its detail and clarity, Charles reached out via email with a few technical suggestions, and a long conversation about betting odds quickly turned into a friendship.

A few months later, Collins Otieno entered the picture. A younger bettor from Kisumu with a knack for finding free bets and promotions, Collins had been an active member of several online betting forums. His posts; part advice, part humour; were popular among everyday bettors who didn’t have large bankrolls but wanted to make the most of their small wagers. David noticed his content, reached out to him, and invited him to contribute an article to his blog.

The collaboration clicked instantly.

Not long after, global heavyweights, Leadstar Media, owners of My Betting Sites came calling.

Looking to expand their operations into Kenya, My Betting Sites noticed David's blog and reached out.

To cut the long story short, the three wise men proceeded from being editors and contributors of a small-time blog to manage the Kenyan arm of My Betting Sites.

What started as a side project has now evolved into Kenya’s most trusted betting review platform.

David brings editorial direction and experience, Charles contributes data expertise and insight into betting technology, and Collins gives the site authenticity and relatability - a voice that reflects the everyday Kenyan punter’s mindset.

Their shared goal remains simple: to make betting information transparent, responsible, and genuinely helpful for Kenyan players.
