How to fund your betting account with OPay
As you have seen, OPay is not only a convenient payment platform, but it is also very customer friendly. It is one of the very few payment platforms that allows us to pay less than the actual amount we want to deposit.
Let us now take you through a guide on how to deposit money into your betting account via OPay
Step 1: Get the OPay app
If you already have the OPay app and a functioning OPay account you can skip this step and move to step 2.
The first thing to do is to download the Opay app. Android users can download the app on Google Play, while iPhone users will find it in the app store. The app is very easy to download and install, and doesn't consume too much memory space.
Now that you have the app, it's time to set up an account.
Here's how to set up an OPay account:
- Click the "Sign up" button which can be found in the app
- Enter your phone number and verify it
- Choose a password
- Enter your personal details
- Set up your payment PIN
- Verify your email
When this is done, you can move on to the next step which is to deposit some money into your OPay wallet.
Step 2: Deposit Money into your OPay wallet
Before you can fund your betting account with OPay, you must first deposit money into your OPay wallet. To fund your Opay account, click "Add Money" from the main menu and select any of the different funding options.
You can fund your OPay wallet via the following methods:
This is a simple and popular payment method that allows you to fund your OPay wallet with your bank card (ATM card). All you need to do is to supply your card details and the amount you want to deposit. The transaction will be carried out immediately.
When you choose the Bank App option, you will be able to fund your Opay wallet directly from your bank account via your bank app on your mobile phone. This service is currently available with the following banks:
- Zenith Bank
- Guarantee Trust Bank
- First Bank
- Access Bank
- Stanbic IBTC Bank
- Diamond Bank
- Wema Bank
- Sterling Bank
- Heritage Bank

The payment process is very simple, and very similar in all of these bank apps, but there are subtle differences. When you click on the bank of your choice, you will find detailed instructions on how to go about transferring money to your Opay wallet via your bank app.
If you don't have a bank card or a bank app, or you do not even have a bank account at all, don't worry, Opay has got you covered. You can fund your OPay account by depositing cash with an OPay agent.
With over 250,000 agents operating in Nigeria, you are sure to find one very close to you. You can locate a nearby agent via the OPay app.
All you need to do is to walk over to an OPay outlet, give your cash and your wallet number to the agent and ask for a deposit. Before you leave the outlet, confirm that your wallet has been credited. Depositing via an agent, like most things on OPay, is free!
Request money from another OPay user
One other way of funding your OPay wallet without the need for bank cards or bank accounts is by asking a friend or an agent to transfer money into your wallet. You can then return the money in cash or via transfer at a later date.
So find a payment method that is most convenient for you and deposit some money into your Opay wallet!
Step 3: Deposit your money on a betting site
Now that you have a funded OPay account, you can now transfer money into your betting account!
To make a deposit, click "Betting" from the home page, choose your betting site from the "Service" drop down and provide the following details in the appropriate spaces.

You can choose to pay with your main OPay balance or use money from your OWealth account. OWealth is a separate savings and investment scheme on the Opay app. You can also pay via the Cashback option if you have any money in that account. You have to select one of the three payment options before the transaction can be carried out.
Remember to check if you have any gift vouchers as they can help you save some money. Once you have selected your voucher (if any), click "Pay Now" in the bottom right of your screen. You will be asked to enter your payment PIN before the transaction is complete.
What makes Opay a great deposit option?
- Simple, easy-to-use app
OPay is clearly loaded with numerous functions, but that doesn't compromise the simplicity of the app. The interface is classy, yet basic, and navigation is fast and very responsive. The different functions are well defined, allowing for easy movement through the pages. Depositing funds via Opay is a very speedy process and should be completed within minutes!

Unlike some other payment platforms that charge extra money before allowing us to fund our betting accounts, Opay doesn't do that. All you need to part with is the amount you want to deposit into your betting account. As you will soon find out, you may not even need to pay up to your deposit amount due to the great bonuses and promotions on the app.
- Great Bonuses and Promotions
Nigerians love their freebies, which explains why a lot of us have fallen in love with Opay! This payment portal has many exciting offers for both new and existing customers, with a number of them specific to users who want to fund their betting accounts.
For example, when we first signed up on OPay, we were welcomed with a N220 new user gift package which included two different betting vouchers! There was a N40 voucher for a N100 deposit, and a N60 voucher for a N200 deposit.
Nigerians love OPay because they give lots of bonuses and discounts!
When we funded our betting account with N100, we saved N40 and paid only N60. Also, when we made a N200 deposit, we spent N140, with the remaining N60 taken care of by the voucher. Amazing, isn't it? This welcome offer has a one-week expiry date.
The bonuses do not end there! You get to enjoy up to 5% discount on your deposits between Monday and Friday, and a 10% discount when you fund your betting accounts via OPay on weekends. These discounts apply to fixed deposits, and are active on the first five deposits per day per betting account.
