King of All Sports and the Story Behind the Name

Emmanuel “Tips” is one of the more recognisable voices in Nigeria’s online sports betting community, known widely by his nickname “King of All Sports.” In an interview with MyBettingSites Nigeria on 16 January 2026, Emmanuel explained that the title was not a persona he created for himself. Instead, he says it emerged from audience perception, people who followed his betting activity and began attaching the name to him over time.

The name ‘King of All Sport’ came because I’ve won different types of sports on the betting platform… it came from my followers… I didn’t get the name on my own. And I didn’t create it.

He describes his foundation as sport-first, not betting-first. Emmanuel says his relationship with sport began from childhood, and he still identifies openly as a Liverpool fan. That background, in his view, shaped how he later approached betting: as something that requires familiarity with sport dynamics, patterns, and context, not just “luck” or online hype.

Right from childhood, I’m a sports loverr and I’m a Liverpool fan.

From Private Person to Public Betting Figure

A key part of Emmanuel’s story is that he did not originally intend to become a public personality. In the interview, he told MyBettingSites Nigeria that he was not naturally drawn to social media and considered himself shy. His early use of Twitter (X) was not to post betting codes, it was activism during the #EndSARS period. He says he was actively involved in the movement and used social media to share awareness materials.

I came to the internet just to campaign about End Police Brutality… I was at the tollgate all through those periods.

After that phase, Emmanuel says he realised the internet could also be used to “move a wave” by giving people something useful, starting with codes and motivational thoughts, before his betting presence expanded.

I now discovered that on this social media, I can really… move a little bit wave by giving them what they need. So I started dropping codes, and the growth was unbelievable.

Beyond football: “I became popular with football… but I prefer other sports for betting”

Although Emmanuel acknowledges that football helped build his initial visibility, he told MyBettingSites Nigeria that he later shifted focus because football is widely played and heavily saturated. While he remains a football fan, he says he personally prefers other sports markets for betting outcomes.

Specifically, I’m a very good football punter… I became popular with football, but I left football because it’s a popular sport. Everybody plays it… When it comes to betting, I prefer… basketball, ice hockey, baseball.

This “multi-sport” identity is consistent with the nickname his followers gave him and is central to how he positions himself: not as a one-league tipster, but as someone who studies multiple sports markets

How Long Has He Been Betting?

Emmanuel also gave a long-range view of his experience, separating casual betting from what he considers professional-level discipline. He says he has been involved in betting for decades in various forms, but frames his professional evolution as roughly 15 years.

Betting has taken more than 25 years of my life… but professionally… I would say it’s 15 years now.

He also acknowledged early mistakes, including being scammed, and presented that stage as part of what later shaped his caution and seriousness.

Why His Betting Philosophy Stands Out

Unlike many tipsters who focus on “sure odds” messaging, Emmanuel’s approach is more disciplined and structured.

While speaking with us, he repeatedly returns to one core idea, betting is a business and an investment, not a trial. His emphasis is not just on winning big, but on risk control, “recovery” strategies, and understanding markets deeply enough to avoid emotional decision-making.

Although he became popular through football betting, Emmanuel says football is not his favourite sport for betting outcomes. He describes himself as a football fan, but claims he prefers betting markets in sports like basketball, ice hockey, and baseball, where he believes the dynamics can be more predictable for certain styles of wagering.

He’s also candid about the realities of being public in the betting space. He shared how followers sometimes criticise tipsters for not cashing out early, especially when a slip loses late.

For Emmanuel, that pressure is part of the game, decisions can look “wrong” after the fact, even if they were rational at the time.

Identity, Discipline, and Purpose Define his Approach

What emerges from our sitdown with Emmanuel is not only a betting story, but a narrative about identity, a sports lover who stumbled into public influence, built credibility through perceived results, and now sees betting as something that demands discipline and understanding, especially in a market where many people want overnight outcomes.

For MyBettingSites Nigeria’s Spotlight series, Emmanuel represents a specific type of betting influencer, one whose public image is built as much on community recognition and multi-sport confidence as it is on the codes themselves.
